Re: Howdy old friends, quick Vancouver run Sunday?

Looked around and asked a couple of people and no luck. Think it is a myth. There might have been at some time but these days I imagine they are a security risk. The Running Room was the perfect way to do it. The Run for Water Ultra was so much fun. Amazing group of runners and race organizers. If a...

Re: Howdy old friends, quick Vancouver run Sunday?

So I ended up walking to and from the running room and using the shop to change and leave my bag. I worked perfectly. Ran the full loop, and it was 10km almost exactly door to door. Slow but very happy after saturday's 55km. http://www.movescount.com/moves/move64340850" onclick="window.open(this.hre...

Re: Howdy old friends, quick Vancouver run Sunday?

Yeah the 10km was a rough "it would be nice to do" distance. After tomorrows 55km it will be more a run walk take pictures walk run repeat. I have never been so I imagine I will stop and smell the roses. Sorry it is so last minute, I hadn't thought of it until last night. Got a feeling I w...

Re: 2015 Sulphur 100 - Pacer available

No chance you'd want to come out to Kettle Moraine in two weeks? Hey I did it a couple of years ago. Dropped at 100km with Achilles issues. Don't underestimate the open meadows sections. It is hot and humid especially on the return. Hydrate very very well through it. Some pics here - http://t...

Howdy old friends, quick Vancouver run Sunday?

Hey all I am in Abbotsford BC for Friday and Saturday, helping Ray Zahab and the Run for Water people with the 55km Ultra on Saturday, "running" support and motivation. So on Sunday I am getting a lift back to YVR at 8am and my flight doesn't leave till 4pm so I thought I would take the tr...

I have moved from LaSportiva to Inov8's with a brief stop in Hoka land. Hoka's might serve you well.

Re: Anyone Running La Sportiva's . . .

Yes Spaff is the La Sportiva Guru and member of the Team to boot. I have been, and still am a Crosslite 1.0 fan. 100miles and no issues. That said I have been cheating on LS over the last year and running in Hokas and Innov8's - But the CL1's and Vertical K's are still in the rotation. I find the Wi...

I'll bribe puppy strider this weekend with steak and he'll tell me. Never trust a dog to keep a secret when there's food involved. Careful there Buddy....I want Strider Pup to want to come home....even though I think Mrsngcaper may try to hide him. Cool Erin, Welcome to the new Dark Side (truly is ...

Re: question

I would think it is private land and therefore could be viewed as trespassing. I would call the club house and ask. I would imagine they wouldn't like it too much during regular golfing hours (liability issue) but maybe off season would be fine.

Day 3 for me too. Except for stomach/abs and some slight tightness about my right knee (massage Thursday) not too bad. Racing 42.2km is harder than Running 100km. Body is tired though.

Re: Sears Great Canadian Run and GoodGuysTri

Stories like that make running 100km easy. Thanks for sharing. It is the life long struggles that are one of the key issues, and sometimes it is not the struggle with the disease, but the cure. Childhood cancer is different than adult, and treatments need to be developed specifically for the children.

Way to go DB. Amazing performance. So what what was your recovery method between days? Ice baths? Massages? Re-Fueling? It seemed to work well. From the pictures you looked stronger on the 3rd day. The pacing for the 10k was perfect. Well done.

Haliburton 2013

Anyone going? Turns out I am. Last minute entry. I was checking the WS100 lottery qualifying races and to my surprise Kettle Moraine 100km was not on the list. The 100 mile was but not the 100km. So I need to run a qualifying race to be able to put my name in the lottery and keep my entry streak goi...
