Re: Racing Sunday!

26 km LSD this morning as a start to my Marine Corp Marathon preparations. Legs a little tired and bloody nipples, had to do last 10 km or so shirtless, lucky it was a nice morning!

On the way to the airport, race kit pickup upon arrival in Ottawa, then an easy 8 km or so somewhere around the canal.

Re: Interesting article on orthotics

I suffered from knee pain for many years and none of the Drs I saw could tell me why. Turns out it was my feet causing the problem all along. After seeing a good physiotherapist and getting made to order orthtics, i am close to 10 years pain free while continuing to run 8 to 12 km a day. Orthotics d...

Re: Ravenous hunger...

Before heading out for a good run, I mix some yogurt with fresh strawberries or banana. leave it cooling in the fridge and look forward to it while I'm running. Then just eat normal, healthy meals.

After 18 km today, was acting up a lot. Tried the tennis ball idea, worked really well and looks like something I'll have to continue.

Just a thanks to newfinnloper for the hint for my Winnipeg trip. Although the river was a little flooded for the first km or so, the route you posted turned out to be a great run. 22 km and enjoyed evry minute. thanks again.

Re: Big run Saturday

20 km LSD about noon today, sunny but with a bit of wind, only mistake I made was heading out a little over dressed. Still had a good run though. The rest of the day now belongs to the Grandbabies. Love weekends!

Winnipeg River Walk, Water Levels

Question to Winnipeg maniacs. I will be in the city this Tuesday evening while my daughter attends the Justin Beaber concert. Can anyone tell me if the water is lower now on the river walk? Thinking of doing my run during the concert, starting at The Forks, but not sure where to go from there (8 - 1...

Priformis syndrome causing me issues again today but managed to get 10k done with some intervals thrown in. For those that know Brandon, 18th street is pretty steep at times, made the pain that much worse but ............oh well. Time for some long, slow stretching.
