OUTRACE presenting Trails in Motion film fest Nov.7

Hello RMers! I know it looks like I went totally MIA, but I'm still here. Still running and still doing ultras... hopefully a 100 miler in 2016. I've been meaning to put up a note about the new Ontario Ultra and Trail Race OUTRACE website that was launched a couple of months ago to replace the old O...

Re: Superior 100

Great race report, Dale! Congrats on your buckle! You ran it well from the sounds of it, minus the unplanned unsupervised snooze. ;-) Good job and good luck on your quest for more buckles. What's next on your hit list?

Re: Sulphur Springs 100 Mile Race Report

Congratulations on hammering out your first 100 miler, Robin!! You are a tough lady, determined, disciplined, smart and you put your heart and soul in your running. I loved your race report. It reminded me of my first 100 and many other races where I had to dig deep to finish. Finishing is very empo...

Good luck at Kettle Moraine 100! Can't wait to read that race report. Set aside a keg or a cooler near your sleeping area.

Would love to, but not this year. :D
It is on my list of 100s to do... If I make the trip out there, it would be to run it. No reason I could not pace while I race...

Good luck on your first 100 miler, robin! I'll be out around the start/finish and if needed, I'll jump in for a loop.
The weather looks awesome for the weekend. Sulphur is usually super-hot in the day time...

Re: Barkley: World's toughest race

I just saw the documentary last Sunday as part of the Toronto HotDocs Festival. Not sure where the documentary is screening or is available online, but it's worth tracking down and watching. Barkley: The Race that Eats Its Young. One of my favourite quotes in the film is when a guy on a runner's cre...

I might not jump over the finish line like in my avatar photo, but you might hear me holler. Oh, and I will wear my ORANGE running cap that has the RUNNINGMANIA logo on the front. Like the highlighted words in the previous sentence, you can't miss me! Oh, and I have not changed, just gotten slower. ...

I heard PYP turned out to be a great day... no snow, lots of sunshine, but cool temperatures.

Looking forward to running Seaton 50k. My first race in a very long time. Running to finish... hopefully under 8hrs. :|

Re: Ultra Series

It's always exciting to try to find your limits. Everyone is different, you can get away with a lot of abuse and your body adjusts to a lot of strain and fatigue. Your pain threshold changes a lot and that can be a problem when you do permanent damage to yourself. The problem with 100 milers is that...

Re: Ultra Series

I've been avoiding to post in this thread because it reminds me of things I would do differently when it comes to running and racing ultras and 100 milers. In 2009 I won the series free entry. I was training for my first 100 at Sulphur and by September I thought running Haliburton 100 was a good ide...

Now I do longer runs so I can jump in the bushes more often. Win-win. ;) I wonder is ryne has found the answer...

D@mn fast time for a 100k. Sorry you had to drop there, but it was smart.
I've been eying Kettle Moraine 100 for a year now... would love to hear about the course and how you liked the 100k you covered.
Hope your recovery is going well... I know the feeling. :(
Enjoy the rest of the summer.
