Nice! I do that quite often as well. I am sure we have crossed paths. What kind of runs do you usually hit at lunch time?

Mississauga Runners

Hey, It's been a while since my last post.

How many of you out there are from Mississauga? I am in Meadowvale and was wondering if there are any early morning runners?

Just curious,

Re: Help me buy a bike trainer

Several Questions you should ask... What is your budget? How much riding will you be doing per week? How long (many weeks) are you stuck indoors? How much noise are you able to put up with (do you have video or tv to drown out the mag)? Is there a decent used market in your area? Is there a bike sho...

Product Review – An AG Athlete’s (Not Scientist) Perspective

I must admit I was curious to see if Honey Stinger could change my mind about the chew format of nutritional racing/training aids. I had a poor experience a few years back in the Muskoka Chase Duathlon when I tried another brand’s chew style product. As I reached into my jersey pocket, to start my r...

Re: Honey Stingers + Free Shipping!

abirdd , They are much different than the chews in texture and taste. They do look like a breakfast waffle and taste similar as well. They have a honey taste to them but I would not say that are super sweet. I have used before a workout but admit that I use them more like power bars (pre-workout) an...

Re: Honey Stingers + Free Shipping!

Thanks for the feedback folks! I am very lucky to have a pretty solid stomach so I cannot answer too many of your questions regarding your wheat intolerance. I hope you find the product that gets you through all your runs so you can enjoy the sport as much as possible.

Honey Stingers + Free Shipping!

Hey all, Not sure if you have tried Honey Stingers before (pretty new to Canada!) but these things are amazing. I tried some Waffles from some hockey player friends and am hooked so I was super excited when I found them on a Canadian Online Retailer. They are super tasty, give a great boost of energ...

Donate it to charity. Many orgs will take these and get them into the hands of people that cannot afford bikes and can use them for transportation.

Ann, A Hanover person who dislikes hockey. I would not bring that out in public forum. They may commit you up there. HAHA

Jono, Yeah, everyone calls them something different. I would put cassettes, etc in the Cycling Component Survey. Gear is my clothing, shoes, etc.

Re: Cycling Gear Survey

As usual, the idiots that do these pranks, dont realize the concequences until someone gets hurt or killed. It may be good for a laugh once or twice but eventually something will go wrong, at the expense of an innocent. Doesn't help when the leader of your city is creating his own army of cycling ha...

Re: Cycling Gear Survey

I would agree that the ladies tend to have more fun with their selection of cycling gear. There are a few brave guys at the tris and dus that I have seen with Sesame Street characters or AC/DC logos. I think it is great but I don't think I could pull it off, especially, with matching socks.

Re: Cycling Gear Survey

Ah, I should have wrote Toronto Maple Leafs. Sorry. I do see some folks out there being creative but it is a tough market to supply, especially, when most of the customers are not cyclists but hockey fans. If it was a Cycling store, I would tell him that a few of these on hand would sell but when mo...

You can always save some money and go by Perceived Effort as well. Nothing is perfect so if you know your effort levels decent enough then just push your body for the main set. I never used to use all the gadgets but improved my cycling speed in a big way in the first year (+5km/h faster in my first...

Re: Indoor cycling

Baby Steps, I would say Heart Rate is your best indication of effort on a trainer to start out. Power Meters take the cake but are very expensive. I would find out would your different HR Zones are and then you can mimic those on the trainer. The problem with many of the other tools is that you can ...

Cycling Gear Survey

Hey folks, my buddy is a merchandise buyer and he sent along a link to see if cyclists would actually wear Maple Leaf logo'd gear. What are your thoughts? My feeling is that we usually like to show off our club or our fav cycling team, etc. Most of our designs are very industry related so I am not s...

Not only is the course and the weather tough, the holiday parties make it hard to hit this race in peak form. Great race and report!

Had the same darn lace issue. Just keep on running cause that rain would have froze me if I stopped.

Great podium result Anne!

Take care,
