also in reading...i found that you should be taking the percentage of your WORKING heart rate NOT your max heart......if i were to run 60-70% of my MAX HR based on that chart i would have to run at about 114bpm....which would be PRETTY LOW! wouldn't it??? (it was kind of one of thosse charts that i ...

i don't think i could last longer than 2 weeks at this speed cuz it's so slow!!....would it still be beneficial to maybe mix it up by doing one slow run one day and one normal run the next?......or does that kinda defeat the whole purpose??....

SLOOOOOWWWWW run

So i went for a run today, with one goal in mind....to keep my heart rate LOW!...since it appears it's been WAY too high on previous runs.....and let me say...it was SOOOO slow....faster than a walk (thank god) but i think i was running 13:55/km pace and i kept having to remind myself to slow down!....

running does not hurt... I don't have good knees and was just looking for tips to reduce any sort of uncomfortable-ness with my knees. There is less impact on grass than pavement, hence why i feel better on grass.... I'll figure it out.

okay..so i rarely eat meat, all my carbs are breads and pastas. I need more protein and less carbs. If i was an extreme long distance runner then maybe i would understand the need for more carbs. But i am not. I run 40 minutes a day, and about 5.5km a day NOT very much!!. I need protein i do not get...

[quote="Agent Provocateur"]Just curious as to why you're looking for low-carb. As a runner, you need lots!

i already eat WAY too many carbs as it is...i would rather eat them than drink them! (and i am SURE i need to cut back anyways)

when there is pain, it's usually on the outside edges below the knee caps. It's not really "painful" but its not's normal either. Kind of feels like when i get home from standing for 9 hours at work.

[quote="MichaelMc"] Just as a suggestion, btw, most of us end up talking in "minutes per kilometer" rather than "kilometers per hour"; it is a somewhat more precise measurement. I have to pull out one of my calculators to figure out your paces. quote] i actually have my pace listed in one ...

Heart Rate

My average heart rate during a run is about 170-177 bpm depending on the run of course. I am wondering what i should be aiming for or what is a reasonable measurement. Ideally i would like to lose weight, but also increase my endurance. Speed is nice, but not neccesarily my priority. I am a 25 yr ol...
