Re: Around the Bay - Who's in....

I'm back this year as an official bunny, running 2:15'. I've had a bit of issue with my gastrocs lately so I hope it holds up for my target pace. I think this will be my 9th ATB.

Re: Chicago Marathon 2012

This was a thought for me until I saw it was sold out. I think I'm going to make Detroit my (only) October race this year. I've heard good things. It's been awhile off running for me and I'm just getting back into marathon mode. Hope to get a BQ in before next Christmas.

Re: New Ottawa Area 25k/50k Winter Race

Just a heads up, there is also a pretty low key 50km race near ottawa on the 1st full weekend of February. I'm not sure if you even need to register. A friend of mine is organizing it.

Re: Haliburtons Anonymous (HA)

I'm having a bit of a freakout and need help. I'm doing my first 100 mile in Haliburton and have been battling some nagging injuries ever since Dirty Girls. With those injuries finally under control, I go to do only a 20km run today and I've got two massive blisters now to deal with. What is the bes...

Re: Lululemon for Running

The service really depends on the store. They are trained to try and point out a lot of the hidden features about a product that you might not notice just by looking or reading the tag. It's not that they are trying to pester you while you shop. In the store that I worked at, it gets super busy on t...

Re: Beer Mile

Even when drinking 13 beers, its not too much of an accomplishment to finish that half marathon the way he did. My mom has walked a few half marathons and still finishes well under 4 hours. I'm sure most drunk people who haven't planned out a run may cover close to that distance over 5 hours walking...

Re: Lululemon for Running

The cycling shorts are a bit short for long rides but they are a great short multisport races. The new Woman's Cycling tops look amazing but I haven't heard much actual feedback yet. I haven't been working there for over a month now so I'm a bit out of the loop on teh newest stuff.

WOW!!! I haven't been following this thread for quite some time and I thought to look it up today and give an update on my Century Beer Half Marathon idea I came up with last summer. I finally had the opportunity for a full attempt last Friday. I decided to keep it really low-key and not make a big ...

Re: Lululemon for Running

As a lulu Educator, its kinda entertaining to read this. Lulu has recently been lacking a bit of creativity in their naming of the new garments and that is why there is a short that is just finishing its life on the floor called the Sneak a Peek short and the brand new hiking short called the Seek t...

I've got two pairs and have used them lots, especially over the winter. Best arm warmer i have ever seen. For a guy, I would go M/L. Most women would be good with the small.

Re: Best multi-day Running Backpack

I took a trip down to novaks last week and checked out some different packs. My favourites were the Osprey Atmos 35 and the Salomon Revo 35. I'm still considering my Lululemon Cruiser Backpack after running a good 18km with it last week with about 70% of the weight in it. It felt pretty good and I a...

Best multi-day Running Backpack

I'm preparing for a 4-5 day run/hike where I'll need to carry all my stuff with me. I am looking for the best type of backpack for this so if anyone has one that works really well for running, I would love to know what kind it is. Also any feedback on other popular models, good or bad would be good ...

Re: Tell me what it takes to get an ATB Gold Medal

Nick and I are both in the Front of the Pack. He's definitely got speed and I've got the endurance so we're going to try and push each other like a team. I just ran a 3h marathon in harsh conditions in Ottawa a few weeks ago. I'm hoping for some good weather, but with ATB you can never count on that.

Re: Niagara-on-the-Lake marathon, 1/2, 10k, on June 19th

I'm considering doing it but I have a 4 day(200km) adventure run the following week so it'll depend on how confident I am in my training at that point.
