Re: Canadian Running Shoe Prices -- what gives?

I saw them at $129. Weird or not.

But I am not really trying to stir up a dispute about how much the shoes cost at Bushtuckah -- more just hoping to get some understanding of why the US and Canadian shoe markets are so different.

Re: Canadian Running Shoe Prices -- what gives?

(OP here). Thanks all. I did look around Ottawa -- Sports 4, Bushtuckah, etc. -- and no men's Kinvaras at less than $129. It's a bit frustrating, as I would prefer to buy here. Interesting though, I was looking at trail-running shoes, and La Sportiva Wildcats seem to be priced very similarly in Cda ...

Canadian Running Shoe Prices -- what gives?

Does anybody know why running shoes are so much more expensive this side of the border? (Not rhetorical.) I went to price a pair of Saucony Kinvara's. Best online price for a Canadian retailer I could find was $119.00 plus shipping, taxes. Local bricks and mortar stores had 'em for $129.00 ($145 or ...

I was finding trolling for music too time-consuming and exhausting, so have taken to downloading podcasts. Only difference I can think of is the camber -- for me anyway, even if I try to compensate by switching sides, running on a tilted surface for any length of time bangs me up.

I was in Sports 4 (downtown Ottawa) yesterday browsing, and they had 2120s on display, suitably marked down to $89 or $99.

Granted I was only browsing the guy's section, but it might worth giving them a call.

    Hands

I think the tights discussion has about run its course, so I will throw another cold-weather question out there -- what do you all wear on your hands when it goes below 0? Last year I wore cheap ski gloves, but they weren't a great solution. My wife bought me some of those thin Nike running gloves a...

Armchair docs -- diagnosis needed for strange foot.

So I am about 2km into an easy run, and I start to get a pain on the underside of my right foot, sort of at the base of 2nd and 3rd toes. It feels (this may sound weird) like there is fluid or something under the skin, and when I push off I compress the fluid driving it into my tissues and causing p...

I opened this thread expecting Sports 4 in Ottawa/Kanata to be plugged early and often. WTF? I'm new -- have they been blacklisted or something I don't know about? If not, it needs to be high on any list for Ontario. Independent, great staff for the most part, and tons of stuff on sale. (Today I saw...
