It's not who you go with, it's what you leave with.
That was so random. Too much beer on a rest day.

Re: 27 year old man dies running Toronto marathon
Just saw this thread and wanted to comment. He was doing the 1/2 and it happened exactly 200m from the finish. I know, I was 20 feet away with my 13 year old son and watched it happen right before us. It was all so fast and unbelievable. Still seeing it over and over.

Re: Vulture Bait
Just ran it. Sadly have to recant the comments I made to Mini-T earlier in the week. I just posted this on FB: Hey Vulture Baiter's! Just frolicked in the puddles and mud at Funshawe. Pretty typical mid-October wet muckiness after some good rain. Wet leaves on wet roots and wet rocks. Yum, yum, yum....

Saw your above post on the OUSER list today, Chainsaw. It inspired me to go on Facebook and solicit 10 likes to a "Should I status" then I have to go. I'm at 7 in one hour. What's up with that? Really!!!!

Re: Creemore Vertical Challenge
Is it fun? No... the allure of Creemore Springs beer and pizza within 50 feet of the finish should do nothing to entice you let alone the thought of taking said items into the river and just sitting there wondering why you put yourself through such *fun* as you check out the handmade clay medal you ...

Don't forget the horse diaper. I thought of people like you last year at night. Headlamps don't quite illuminate the stuff.

I somehow sense that pacing for Nature Girl includes chauffeur service to her place of residence after the race. That being the case, 24 Strongbow and spicy chicken with (3 large please) rice and beans brought in from the nearest Popeye's should work.

That's it. I'll take the auto industry approach and call it an ISO audit. giggles... I guess doing one loop can, in no possible way, be slower than the two turtle trods I tried last year.
Thank you Chainsaw Baby. I have seen the light.

Umm, when exactly should I put air in the tires to prepare for this 72k adventure I see my name attached to? The poor Tosca ain't moved since last year. No wait, I did move it to vacuum dust bunnies once.

Re: Need Trail Shoe Advice
Interesting talk on the Salomon's. I have several models all with the quick-lace system and have never had to readjust tension due to them loosening at any time including 50k, 50 mile or the ultra fun Dirty Girls 24 hour. I agree with the strange feeling about the cinching at the top but quickly got...

It's my fault for not seeing the shrine on the way back, Nature Girl. Had to start a new one. Not quite sure what to do at Halihurtin this year. Inclined to go for a better result in the 50 mile but the night always calls. hmmm... Felt inspired by a 20k loop of Funshawe today followed by some ...
