I don't have any insights or ideas ... just well wishes and cheers from afar! I sure wish I lived in the GTA so you could be my coach!

I've been following this thread with interest as DH's physiotherapist told us about magnesium supplements. Thanks for the information, Spirit!

Re: Every time I think I am out ...
Thank you, Dstew. Having some people ask me my times in races made me feel inferior or judged. I just wanted to have a goal distance to train for as I don't do well just running. I only really ran for time in a couple of races and really did pay the price, like you say. Medics actually came up to me...

Congratulations! I think you are marvelous, too. I loved your report with all the ins and outs and ups and downs that you experienced during that long, long 50k. Loved the photos, too! Yes, what Avis wrote. Those ups and downs made me cheer you on (yes, I know after the fact) through to the finish ...

Re: Every time I think I am out ...
Thank you for your report and your comments below the report. I am in need of finding that love of pounding the pavement again and your words have touched my heart. This is how and why I ran in the past even though I felt some were judging me. I want to get that feel good feeling back. This forum is...

Such a sweet idea! It's the thought that counts! :D +1 I love the idea of 13.1 sticker or memento jewelry. Something to commemorate her accomplishment! A friend's husband had a paperweight made for her first half. It had the name of the race, date of the race, and her finishing time. Of course he p...

It has been known to be stinkin' hot for the race! Both during the 'old' time and the new time. My first 5K was the Intact back in 2008. Well over 30C. Sunday's 1/2 and full was even hotter!

The half is going over the full route from the last few years with the loops off of 142 Street. The half route usually ended along Ravine Drive. The full route is just about bang on the past few year's route. Slight variation with it following Jasper Avenue not 102 Avenue right from the east end. Wi...

Re: Teacher missing after run
Two things about this make me sad: - if he had an accident running, it is something that very easily could happen to myself or any of us - if he disappeared, it makes me sad that he may not have had anyone to talk to about his problems I hope if something happened to him, he is found soon. You've p...

What's the quote that goes something along the lines of ... "I'll laugh at the health nut that lies in the hospital dying of nothing." I definitely don't remember exactly how it goes!
