Re: Goal - 2016
Will look her up! Beginning to think maybe it's too ambitious to try for a marathon - a half might be better. My chemo finishes early November then maintenance is once every 3 months so hopefully my energy level will be back! Really glad I came back to this group - you are all so wonderful!

Re: Goal - 2016
Thanks for the reply. I was thinking the same thing - but don't know of any halfs that would fit. It's too early to look on line. Do you think early June would be okay for a half?

Goal - 2016
Haven't posted for a very long time. I have had some serious health issues over the summer and the treatments will get easier after November, then maintenance for 2 years. So THINKING of trying to run again from January 2016. I would like to set up a major goal for maybe STWM in October 2016. Wanted...

Re: Runners and racers
I have a 10km race in November then probably think about it over the winter. Made BIG mistake over last winter and did not run - will NOT happen again!

Re: Early morning runs
I just seem to tire quicker. Think I am going to try your suggestions to see what works for me. I have oatmeal at the weekend but don't have time during the week. Thanks for your ideas!

Early morning runs
Have (finally) figured out why my long run at the weekend is faster and easier than my 5km during the week - I have eaten first! (I know, I'm stupid for not figuring it out sooner). I usually go about 6am without even a sip of water - get dressed and run out of the door. Any tips from anyone please?...

Re: Coming back to running (hopefully!)
Great to hear from you! I find even getting out and running a little gives you the encouragement to go again. When I first started back 2-3km was a struggle. I find running 4 times a week - Tues/Thurs 5km Sat/Sun 5km plus a longer run seem to be working for me. I have Lymphoma and think sometimes I ...

Re: T-t-t-t-t-t-ttuesday
5km at 6am this morning. Not a good run. Slow - but I think it's partly because it was dark and I am worried about tripping on the sidewalk (did that a couple of weeks ago). At least I didn't give up like I would have done a month ago!

Well, I did it! My first 9km since I don't know when. Time was 54.28 with 10s and 1s so I am really pleased with myself. The weather was just perfect for running today. Wish it would stay just that way!

Re: Coming back to running (hopefully!)
I moved about 3 years ago after having the most awesome running track - Ajax Waterfront. Now I seem to enjoy it more if I drive 10 minutes down the road into the country and run down those roads - but can only do that on the weekends. Also I have 2 grandchildren now 5 and 2. If they come over for th...

Re: Coming back to running (hopefully!)
Well, Dstew, your message put tears in my eyes! You have inspired me to just forget the past - been there, done that - and realise I am 60 this month and I should be having fun with this running thing. It will not dominate my life like it did in the past and I will enjoy my runs now because they are...
