Re: Vulture Bait 2017
Sticks 'N Stones was a great event. 5K loops were very runnable with a couple of bigger hills. Aid station half way through. The organizers are seasoned ultrarunners so of course it went off without a hitch. They are going to host a couple of more events, including an indoor track event in January. ...

Re: Vulture Bait 2017
This is one race I haven't done yet but want to try. The weekend never works for me.
Good luck though, I'm sure you'll have a great time. I know it's a great event and a fun course.
Let us know what you think!
I'm doing Sticks 'N Stones tomorrow (50K)

Re: Shoe Lace Tying... Whaaaat
I used the lacing technique to take the pressure off the bunion area on my foot as the shoe was a bit too tight! I've used the lock method in the past (when I first started running). These are great suggestions.

Re: Thick Thursday
It was a nice evening here in Vancouver/Burnaby. The Vancouver Marathon Society had a garage sale and 6k run event that I and a couple of other folks from my run crew attended. I ran to the event from work for a 5.5k run and then we ran from East Vancouver down to Science World and back for an inte...

Re: Bear Aware Thursday
It was my first bear sighting of the year this morning! MIchelle and I were just heading around the field behind our local rec centre to get onto the trail when I spotted something big, black, and furry ambling along the train tracks that run parallel to the trail. "Bear!" and we held up ...

Mississauga Marathon for me today! Weather was better than forecast (thank goodness), but wind still there at spots. Didn't make my goal but still a good result. Was uncomfortable from about 18K on so glad to see the finish line.

Re: Running Mules..
This just seems to continue to be a thing in almost every race  Getting a BQ is nothing to brag about anymore, and the sooner they just change the damn race into a lottery or better yet just another race, the better. I'll rather continue doing London, Chicago, Toronto, NYC, LA than wanting to...

3/5/10km races today. Our local Mad Hatters Run club had 8 AG spots, plus RM's very own barebuns1 got 3rd AG. I stuck to my strategy, push but not all out which gave me 3rd AG. Overall a great day. Nicely done, congrats!! Pick your posion 25K trail run for me today! Nice to be back on the trails.

Re: Cool or Not Cool?
I saw these two stories on that Marathon Investigations site: https://www.marathoninvestigation.com/2017/04/human-chains-medal-thievery.html Cool or Not Cool? 1) Runners forming a human chain while crossing the finish line in Boston? 2) Runner taking an extra medal at the finish line and giving it ...

Re: When you run Boston with Ridiculous Enthusiasm..*now with text!
Like Lisa said, your story sounds like my first run in Boston as well....heat wave and 4:39:xx. My slowest marathon ever. It's not an easy course and coming off the winter weather it's hard to run with any heat, let alone a lot of heat!! It's all about the experience though. Once you realize that it...
