Re: Morton's Neuroma

So Happy!! After 2.5 years of pain I think I might have it figured out. I have Morton's Toe!! My second and third toes are longer than the 'big' toe. Who knew. The calluses, the crooked hips, the TMJ...all possible effects from the MToe. I visited the Orthopaedic surgeon, got an MRI and no one broug...

Re: Morton's Neuroma

wow it's been a looooong time since I posted. Got in to see Orth. Surgeon and nothing. Nothing on my MRI. His advice was...orthotics. I have heard so many bad things about orthotics. Anyone have input on this? Meanwhile....I ended up taking some advice from other RM'ers. Trail Child and Minitee....I...

Re: Morton's Neuroma

Hello Everyone I've missed you. It looks like I'm on a very long waitlist for an MRI. Had an XRay (nothing showed up) and my Doc says he can feel a ball inside my foot. The pain went away while I was running in Florida in the heat, on the flat. Now I'm back to hilly Sooke and the pain is insane agai...

Thanks! Unfortunately indoor track is not an option, nor is the gym as I'm pretty limited to 'me' time. (Here with kids). I have been running at 5:30 am and it's working pretty well - I'm worried more about no hills, limited mileage and staying hydrated enough to keep going. Would anyone suggest run...

Running in 104 F

I'm in Florida for a month and I've gone from running 10-16 km/day on the hills of Sooke, BC to '3-7 mile' runs every second day in super humid, hot 100+ degrees Farenheit on flat! Is this going to kill my endurance? Is there any way I can still increase my fitness while I'm here? My butt is beginni...

Another 8.5K out-and-back to the Potholes Park N Ride. It's great to be running every day again but I'm tired of running with a stroller. My upper back seems to be benefiting though! :) There are a lot of hills in Sooke so it's like the good ole' days of running in Whistler...but no valley trail to ...

Do you have a bike?

I've had ITBS in both legs, chronic back pain (from a weak core) and with my weak glutes...cycling has helped combat all of that.

Pushups become fun, once you can do a few...

Had X-Ray on Monday, will find out complete results on Friday. Hope MRI's not next.

I've been running with my shoes loose and no socks and the pain actually has been going away after about 3-4 Kms....odd...but I'm not complaining! Once I'm out of my shoes, the pain seems to return. Ugh....!

thanks so much! sorry to hear about your OA - are you still moving well?

I'm thinking that the size too small shoes might have triggered this - I'm unsure. I'm on a forever-waiting list to have surgery so I may try the pads for the time being.

Morton's Neuroma

Starting a fresh thread on this. Anyone experiencing this? Any Maniacs who have gotten past this?

I'd love to hear from you.

Happy Thursday!

So, insanely crushing pain today while clipped in to my mtn bike. The toes have been hurting but not this badly for a while.

I've done some Net MD Self-Diagnosing and it sounds very much like Morton's Neuroma. I'll be looking for more threads in RM and will start a new thread, too.

Thanks, JWolf. I am now running without socks and things are somewhat better. My toes still hurt, but it's nowhere near as bad as it was. As for the store - funny I had once before switched loyalties to another store, and since moving to Sooke took a chance on the 'closer' location. Burn! I'm going ...

8 km stroller run. Love how fast I feel sans stroller. Sorry to hear about the shoes, Angel. Just went through the same thing, got no love from the store and now I'm running sock-less. (yikes)

Enjoy your Wednesday, all.

I love that trick daddy one for pre-race, to get me psyched. I am LOVING the new Keri Hilson/Kanye West song "Knocks you down". I also love running to "Boom Boom Pow" by Black Eyed Peas, and it's been a year but still that "Paper Planes" song by MIA throws me into the most relaxed running stride ev...

I do indeed agree with you. Hard to dish out another $150 for a new pair. Perhaps I can haggle.

Will try this... so happy to have your input. Thanks!!
