Re: Furry Friends 5K
Thanks guys. Even though you can't come, can you please pass this information on to anyone who loves animals via Facebook/Twitter etc. Even if we don't get all the participants we want, donations would surely be appreciated. No doubt there are tax receipts available for a minimum donation, I'm guess...

Furry Friends 5K
Hey guys, I am a volunteer with this year's Furry Friends 5K run/walk in Whitby, which is being held in support of the Humane Society of Durham Region. This is one of the few races where you and your furry friend can do the race together. You can also put a team together or run solo. Please support ...

Thanks. It's good to my thought process wasn't totally way off.

No taper racing
I'm doing my first HIM Labour Day weekend. But in between I'm doing some road races - 10s, 20-miler, 15K. I am thinking of not really tapering for any of them. Just going about my training, so if the Sunday race follows a 100K Saturday ride, so be it. My thought process is that trying to push/race o...

When I read this earlier in the week, it read as if she walked the whole time, not just a few KMs a day. This is a new version of the story.
IMHO you do a marathon within the cut off time and that's it. Otherwise, it's just a long walk.
Bionic suit is way cool though.

I've learned by reading forums but mostly by doing, which means some successes and some real bad failures  . Having said that, I read The Woman Triathlete by Christina Gandolfo last year (second tri season). I also ended up using the Olympic training program, with some modifications. I hit all...

I am. I'm doing HIM training, so going in without any sort of taper, so the result won't be pretty.

I was in the same situation as you in February. I did a marathon in Florida on the hottest Feb. 19 in Fort Lauderdale history. Awesome. I immediately wanted a Mulligan. The body, on the otherhand, once I tried to run a week later, said no way. Even the brain said find something else to do. Two...

Re: How do you stick to your healthy eating habits?
Everything in moderation. I like crunchy and salty - chips. Instead, I eat nuts. I try to replace the 'bad' with something relatively healthy. But I am far from perfect. When I bake, all natural and healthy ingredients and because I have to bake it, it really makes me think - do I want it? Normally ...

Re: Who is the blind one?
Shouldn't the guide actually be the defendant? The blind runner, is well, obviously blind and following the guide, so to sue him for carelessness or whatever she's after, seems quite ridiculous. The lawsuit is, whatever, I'll reserve judgement, for the most part. But as this story points out, not on...

I'm also in. Did the Toronto Women's half its first year. Never going back - the course was ridiculous. This one sounds way better and more scenic.
