Re: Hot running (newish) Momma's thread...

Hi! I haven't been on RM much since G was born, but thought I'd check in. I trained and ran the Ottawa Race Weekend Half, and then ran much more casually all summer, even though I was signed up for the Army Run. Ran the Army Run last month and it went much better than I expected, considering I hadn'...

Sorry you didn't have the race you wanted. Seems like you're not quite alone though! And sorry to have missed you while you were in town!

Congrats on the streak!

Re: Race Day Sunday

Ran the ORW 1/2 this morning in 1:58:14. Was on track for something closer to 1:55 until about 10k when I guess the heat was enough to get to me. Still a 9 second PB for my 4th HM, so I'll take it!

Re: Allergy meds and running?

Try switching to something else - Claritin, Reactine or Allegra (but watch for interactions with Allegra). The only prescription antihistamines are either short-acting drowsy ones, or Reactine 20mg (OTC is 10mg). But you may need something else too. I was given a nose spray last year that I thought...

Happy Mother's Day!

I missed my 20k final long long run this morning thanks to hand, foot and mouth disease. I'm counting on the rest of my training being strong enough for it not to matter.

Re: Hot running (newish) Momma's thread...

Did anyone with beautiful weather get out for a run yesterday? It was gorgeous here and I felt like I was flying. I feel like my half training is going really, really well - I started out with the 2:10 pace group, then moved up to the 2:00 pace group, and I'm contemplating trying to run with the 1:...

Re: Flying Monday

Showed up at the gym this morning to run 4km, got halfway changed and realized I was missing an important piece of clothing. Changed back, picked up G from daycare and headed home. E looked after G while the dog and I ran 4.2k in a snow squall at lunchtime.

Re: Hot running (newish) Momma's thread...

A very belated thanks for the congratulations! Gavin's now 2 weeks and I'm itching to get back to running but my body's definitely not ready, and the C-section is probably going to prolong things a bit.

I'm a probable maybe for a M&G.

There's also D'arcy McGees on Terry Fox, and Jack Astor's in the Centrum, but they may not be as family friendly.

Re: Hot running (newish) Momma's thread...

Race start is 48h (or less) from now and I am feeling nervous. I haven't truly trained and tapered for a race since my last marathon in 2007. I have a plan and will race it to the best to my ability. I have done everything I can with the time I had, and what my body had in me. I am looking forward ...
