Re: what do you guys think about...

I didn't reply because I don't really have the time (or interest to be honest) in putting in the effort locally. My life has changed with a toddler, and running isn't as at the forefront as it once was to me. The people I've met on here (and "met" online but not IRL) are still important t...

Re: Pressure cooking

I bought an instant pot on Black Friday and still haven't used it! I need to take some time to sit and figure it out, and I just haven't. My dad saw something about them on tv the other day (I didn't realize it was a Canadian product!) and said there were so many safety mechanisms that it's almost ...

Re: Pressure cooking

That picture...priceless. Surely the cooker could have been plugged into another outlet instead of trying to draw from the stove A friend of mine cooked beans in her pressure cooker and it exploded. Not sure what she did wrong. Maybe she didn't do the "cool down" part? http://medi...

Re: Walking ... how do you keep from boredom

South side near Century Park... really the terwillegar dog park isn't too far away but with the shortened days I just have no motivation to go down there at night with the dog. I hope it gets better in the spring/summer. Maybe I should find a walking group, or just drive somewhere I like to walk 2x...

Re: Women running and safety

A bit of a disturbing thread. Any sharp edged weapon is potentially lethal regardless of size. Any sharp knife can sever a carotid artery or femoral artery, and a person will bleed out in seconds or minutes. If one is waving a knife around randomly as a deterrent it could as easily catch someone in...

Re: Women running and safety

, but I'm now in my 50's and in my mind I think "who wants to attack an old lady". not to scare you but predators (the human kind) look for people that they can overpower not necessarily who is "hot" ;) So I don't think that mind set is necessarily a good one to have. It's not a...
