Re: *sigh* Sportiva

Always frustrating when a company discontinues a favourite model for sure. La Sportiva generally tends to be better than most companies with keeping some of their core models in their line like the Wildcat, Crosslite and CrossOver GTX. I've worn 23 pairs of the CrossLites since 2008 and loved them…t...

The Sydenham Fall Trail Run will take place on Sunday, October 20, 2013 in beautiful Sydenham, Ontario (just north of Kingston). Re: Trails and Ticks

I'll be trying this too....C-Moss and I spend quite a bit of time walking on trails and in the woods. Since you are in Kingston and you know a few of the members of The Tragically Hip, this immediately came to mind when you take C-Moss for a walk in the woods. Sorry I could not resist the lyrical r...

Re: Trails and Ticks

Been a while since I checked in here and just getting caught up a bit (pun intended). I have been bitten by deer ticks on 3 separate occasions while trail running. The first 2 times, it was recommended that I take the 1 time preventative antibiotic to prevent any risk of Lyme disease (since Lyme dis...

Re: Longer Battery Life

Wore Suunto Ambit for 35hrs in the cold in the Yukon and was great. Realtime pace is a bit off on that setting but distance was correct. Bullet proof case too. Your comment about "updates" threw me off. I haven't ever connected my garmin to the computer since I only use occasionally. It's...

Re: Headlamp recommendations?

It's the same headlamp, but I believe the RXP just refers to the fact that it's rechargeable. I do remember there being a recall on the first batch of the original MYO XP's with a wire shorting out or something.

Re: Longer Battery Life

DC Rainmaker review of the Suunto. At the very end he notes it is down on features compared to the competition so if you don't need the XL battery life & altimeter another watch may be a better choice. This may change with future firnware updates. With 2 substantial firmware updates already sin...

Re: Longer Battery Life

Great price for the 310xt and I loved mine (MrsStrider now owns it), but the battery doesn't go much beyond the 12hr. I upgraded to the 910xt and am loving it. It's only downfall is the current pace is still a little wonky, but I never care too much for that as I usually am more focused on Time / D...
