Volunteeer burnout (?)

I try to help out at as many running events as I can - health issues have precluded me being much of an active participant these past few years. I loved the video of the start. Grizzly Adams fires up a smoke and the race begins.

Shoes - technical or fashion ?

Whilst looking for a new (yet again) pair of sneaks I'm lost.
There seems a ridiculous range of choices - of colours and designs, with questionable technical benefits.
Am I missing something here, or is a lot of it change for the sake of change and nothing more ?

Re: Time limit for Try-A-Tri Swim?

There is (usually) no time limit. My first couple of event swims I looked back as I was getting out of the water and the safety canoe/kayak was following me in. I said to myself "someone has to be last out of the water", then went out and caught a few people on the bike and on the run. Giv...

Re: Motivation

I've lost my motivation, even for slow, easy trail runs. I'm hoping the spring weather will help, but its hard to make that first step out the door. I've been at this a long time, and over the last few years cycling has helped. Someone give me a boot in the *ss, please ? Dave posted that he was out...
