Re: Midsummer Night's Run moves to Toronto Islands

For me its the fact that this is not the race I registered for....If I wanted to run on the island I would have registered for the Half Marathon there in September (I am actually doing the 5k distance of that September race)...I registered for a race along the Toronto Beaches waterfront not this.

Re: Midsummer Night's Run moves to Toronto Islands

I am getting a refund because of the route. Please let us know how you make out. I like this race but the race director can be less than helpful on this sort of thing. Two years ago Running Room included a one-day only $6 discount on MSNR registration. Many, including myself, registered that day. R...

Re: Midsummer Night's Run moves to Toronto Islands

I am getting a refund because of the route. For me running 30k is a huge mental hurdle...so doing 3 loops around the island will serious make me go crazy!
The whole ferry situation will suck also...

Re: Oakville or Milton Half Marathon???

Thank you for your response!! I grew up in Oakville and know it really well...thought maybe Milton would be something different. I may just go with Oakville only because it is slightly cheaper than Milton (crazy!) and I have run that entire route on training runs so it is fairly familiar! Plus it wi...

Oakville or Milton Half Marathon???

I have pulled out of the Midsummers night run 30k in August (due to logistics) and am now looking at running another half in September instead. Has anyone run either of these? I have read some things about the Oakville race being 400M long last year and I am sure they will be fixing that this year s...

Re: Sporting Life 10 KM

I PB'd yesterday as well (54:27 Chip) and it was my 4th time running the race. It will most likely be my last as well. Although I love the route having 27,000 runners all cram into the smallest finish line chute ever was insane. I was stopped in front of the finish line mats and did yell at runners...

Re: Sporting Life 10 KM

I am! I just picked up my race kit (as well as a few others). There was no "swag bag" given this year and they would not even give me a plastic bag to carry all the bibs, tshirts and safety pins to carry back to my office (Which was a subway ride and 25 minute walk away). My purse was too ...

Re: What next?

LA that is exactly what I thought. 16k is perfect since I runmute to work in the summer (4:50am wake-up call!) by taking the Go Train to Long Branch Go Station and Running to my office. But Jes...I like your training plan. Port Credit to my office is 22k and Clarkson to my office is 30k...so I can d...

What next?

Here is my story. I trained with the Running Room half marathon program for the Chilly Half and ATB races in March. After those races I basically started from the beginning of the program on my own and have been training for a Half on May 26th. After this half I don't have anymore races until a 30k ...

Too late for new shoes?

I am running a half on May 26th. I have had these mizunos since November...I have run 1 30k race, 1 half marathon, 1 10k and 1 5k race in them as well as countless km's of training. I know its time for new shoes. I would be buying the exact same shoe...is it too late for me to work them in before th...

Re: Lorei's Nike Women's Half in DC!

Congrats on the PB!!! Sounds like a really fun race!! I am hoping to run the San Fran race in 2014 (Full) since I have a lot of family there. Good to know it is a well run race!
