Yeah, with the three strikes thing gone you kind of have to jump on these things now...

Re: New York Marathon 2014

I haven't put forth my money yet, but 2014 is my 'make up' year from the 2012 race. So I will be there.

Blech as well here. Smelled like burnt popcorn and tasted like stale popcorn. I wasn't surprised, I generally am not a green tea fan.

Re: David's Tea Advent Calendar 2013

I had a cup of Stormy Night about a year ago at a David's Tea store (i.e. I bought a singe cup for take out) because it was listed as one to try if you liked Chocolate Rocket (which I love!!). I was 'meh' about it when I tried it. This time around I really loved it. Maybe because I haven' had Chocol...

Re: David's Tea Advent Calendar 2013

I'm a little behind on the thread reading. Here's my review so far: White Chocolate Frost: I liked it. I liked the minty taste and slight sweetness. There was a chamomile undertone I didn't love Alpine Punch: have had this one before (I think in the last calendar) and I like it, which is weird becau...

I also love my perfect infuser! So much easier to clean than a tea ball as well.

Next year I am getting an advent calendar to count down to my David's Tea Advent Calendar!

Re: Carpal Tunnel or...?

Possibly thoracic outlet syndrome (TOS) (obviously can't form a clinical impression without an assessment). The posture of cycling and working at a desk (and driving which I think you do a lot of for work) can create that 'rolled forward' posture which can lead at TOS. http://www.mayoclinic.com/heal...

Re: David's Tea

I had to head into work and my mom was kind enough to go to the mall and pick one up for me! I agree, we should start a thread again this year. I looked at the back of the box and I think only 50% are ones I have already tried. So super excited to sample some new things!

Re: STWM: My first (and last?) full marathon

It's OK not to like the marathon despite feeling sacrilegious saying it! It always seems like the top of the running heap so it can be hard to say that out loud :) After getting cheated out of my marathon debut in 2012 (NYC) I feel like I still have the itch to try it. But I know it is not my distan...

Re: GPS Watch with Heart Rate Monitor - Newby Question

Hello fellow Guelphite! I have owned several Garmin watches. Make sure you investigate the options on the watches so that the watch you choose has all the functions that are important to you. If you just want to turn the thing on and go one of the lesser expensive models will do. I like to program w...

Re: Race Day Monday!!

Official time: 27:26.... give or take as there was not start line mat :) that is pretty much about where I thought I would be based on my HR training paces. So I am just going to keep on keeping on with what I am doing until I am ready to start my official half marathon training plan in the new year.

Dinner tonight was a salmon filet with lime zest infused feta on top. An ear of corn with a lime/maple syrup/olive oil brushing and a carrot, mango, cilantro salad.

Two thumbs up.

Re: If the Pros are promoting it, then ...

How about a little common sense. Who needs common sense when you have the internet. :!: The Nutella stuff was very annoying. 1) If something is sweet and made from chocolate, you're surprised that it's high in calories? 2) At least get the comparisons right-- some people were saying it had more sug...

Re: Frosty WEDNESDAY!

I am pretty sure I saw frost on the roof of the cars this morning...... Just a quick 2 miles today with the middle portion consisting of a few laps around the nice sponge surface track. With this HR experiment I am noting this week if I slow down to a very slow recovery jog I can drop my HR without ...

Early patient this morning... so did my run this afternoon. I really hate running in the afternoon, it felt way harder than it should. But I will have to suck it up because I have to do it again tomorrow because I need to report for volunteer duty for Run for the Cure at 7:15AM. Just hoping it doesn...

Bought today: Full tin of Pumpkin Chai (YAY!) Pistachio Cream Sugar and Spice Oooh...how is pumpkin chai and sugar and spice? Pumpkin Chai is a fave of mine and was so excited to stock up again. Sugar and spice is nice: cinnamon-ish. I normally drink my tea 'black' but this one needs a bit of sweet...

Have a great race!

Long run day today.... Long run is still relative: 4.5 miles today. Beautiful day. Sunny with a little breeze. Enjoying crunching some more data. I think I will start a little log to keep track of it.
