Re: Tour de France 2016
If one only looks at the overall, the Tour was relatively "boring". But for me, there was some real drama with regards to the Green and King of the Mountains. The move Sagan made to "win" was amazing. And after that, I thought there were a number of great and exciting stage vict...

Re: Canadian athlete disqualified at Ironman Canada
And now the North Koreans are getting in on this: http://olympics.si.com/olympics/2016/05/11/north-korean-runners-cut-marathon-qualify-olympics-track-and-field Yeah well if they didn't qualify, odds are they and their families would have been sentenced to 10 years of hard labour so I'm OK with that...

Re: Cabot Trail Relay
I've done it about 8 times. Lots of fun, lack of sleep and lots of camraderie amongst the teams. There are no really easy legs. Gently undulating hills just means they aren't as long and steep as the longer, steeper hills/mountains. The fact you look like a California team will probably help you out...

Re: latest gps faves?
I still haven't figured out how to use the Fenix. I may have a lot of data load on it though. I hit the GPS, then Tracking then Running profile but when I start it I don't seem to get the running screen. It's hard to trail run with a group and try to figure out the screens at the same time. No one i...

Did the Fitz Frenzy 21K Trail Race today. https://www.facebook.com/notifications?clk_loc=1#!/FitzFrenzyTrailRun" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false; I got there a little late so had to jog 50 m to the pre-race instructions. My left shoe was a little loose so I bent down to pull the cord a ...

Re: Not another one...?
The NOCs sometimes literally have millions invested in certain athletes and they may actually be promoting their drug taking. Funding and administrators' jobs are on the line based on their athletes' successes. It is easy to see why they would want to cover up any suspensions. In Clara Hughes' case,...

My personal opinion is that if you are near the top of the world in any type of endurance or strength-related event you are cheating. That also goes for the top HR hitters in baseball.

I think you alternate hot and cold. Cold to keep down the swelling and inflammation and heat to expand the capillaries to get more blood flow for healing.

It's a bit of a learning curve from my old one! But worthwhile I think. Exactly what I wanted for trail/ultra running. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk I've gone through the on-line manual and watched a few of the You Tube videos. Coincidentally one of the guys who has posted some videos, Jim Cyr...

I went to Best Buy today and bought the Fenix as well. There was another guy there looking for a cheap GPS. I was talking to him about the Fenix and I think I convinced him to buy one but I got the last one at that store.
Now I have to try and figure out how the darn thing works.

Re: Liliya Shobukhova
Where there is money and/or prestige many people will cheat. There will always be cheaters. Take away the prize money and you at least take away one, and probably the bigger(est) reason to cheat. I like what the Olympics are doing (at least I think they are doing) by keeping the athletes' blood samp...

Re: Boston Dad may have some explaining to do to his son
I find it hard to believe that a shiny finisher's medal is some people's motivation. Also, the last time I was in San Antonio, I noted that she put herself down for a marathon time in her own race. But I knew she had spent the day in the starting area and not on course. I know years ago the Co-race...
