I am willing to bet that money gets you into Runners World top 10 list. Having run many races throughout N/A it does not rank in my top 10.

Re: Nike Women Race Series in Toronto! June 14, 2015
How many people think Nike is just trying to create hype here? I think they will get a great turnout, by Toronto standards, but 15,000 runners whom I assume will be 90% women seems a little aggressive and I doubt they need to do a lottery. I am going to go on record and predict they get 5,000 finish...

As long as its not really muddy, I think 12 hours is fine. I was thinking it would take me around 10 hours to complete! 6 am start would be great. We will be sleeping in our SUV the night before!

Re: Icarus Ultrafest
Pierre, Its great you are doing a 75 km option. I was disappointed that 48 hours disappeared from Dirty Girls, but this makes up for it. Just curious, what will the cut-off for 75 be? I was hoping Dave Carver would add his race to the series. I need all the long distance options I can get. As a slow...

Diane (Henri's wife who is the Niagara RD) will be organizing the Laura Secord 100 km next year. She confirmed on facebook that there will be some changes including the addition of a 50 km. It will still be in April (although I hope it moves closer to mid month!). Although a lot tougher than Niagara...

There are a few of these types of events. Might even be put on by Savage as well that allow people to do 5 states in 5 days so they can get to the 50 state marathon club even quicker. They are in various parts of the US.

Re: Creemore Vertical Challenge
If you have to raise the entry fee by $5-10 I don't think it will impact you much. I think that the cost of running it is reasonable. The Ontario race calendar is pretty full and I am assuming the Northface race will stick around but I enjoy the time of year when it is run. Good luck for next year.

Christa and I are signed-up. I will be gunning for my 99th Ultra / Marathon finish. If all goes well, I will be trying for one of your coveted Ultra Challenge Challenge medals and my 100th finish at Limberlost.

I think you are about 2 miles from either the Beltline trail to the north, Don Valley to the east or the waterfront on the south.
Lots of options that are fairly close to you.

Re: How do you feel about public race results
I would like to see how I finished compared to the number overall and within my age group. As long as that is made available to me with my own result time, I really don't care about others.
Seems odd not to publish the results of a competitiion (running or otherwise) for everyone to see though.

Re: Sulphur Springs 2014
Sorry to hear of the error. I have never been lost at this race, but can guess that you followed someone onto the main 20 km loop instead of turning for the 5 km spur. If there was no one to see your bib and direct you to the left, I can see how you missed it. If you do trail races enough, you event...

Great job on your finish. Christa told me about your fall afterwards. Glad you were able to finish and recovering. You had some great lap times on such a hot day. Don't tell everyone how great Sulphur is or it will start selling out even earlier!!!

Trails were in great shape. A couple of decent climbs each 12.5 km but I looked forward for the guilt free walking I could do on them. No falls for me this year.

Re: Seaton
If it is not raining, its not too bad. No huge hills, just lots of little ones and enough roots and rocks to keep you honest. The course can wear you down the longer you run it.

I cant make PYP this year due to a wedding, but it will seem easy compared to the rude awakening that Laura Secord provided last weekend to welcome in the 2014 OUSER series. I am looking forward to easier trails in Seaton in a month.

Not as hilly as Creemore or PYP and not as technical as ITT.
One water crossing, you will do twice each lap. Depending on amount of rain we have it can be just above ankle deep to almost knee deep.

Female 24 hour is "only" 317 km so its not more than double than what the 12 hour is.

Re: Little Rock Marathon Stopped Due To Weather Effect
I have run this race in the past and it is well organized. (I was a Pacer for them). I know bad weather (Severe Thunderstorms) was forecast to move into the area and at this time of year they can easily turn into tornados. Tough call, but I assume police / EMS / city had some say in pulling the plug...

Re: North Face ECS- Blue Mountain
I am torn. I have done a Northface ultra in WI and it was good value and well run. I would recommend a race in the series based on that. On the other hand, I am not thrilled that this series is going head to head with an Ontario Ultra Series established race "Limberlost Challenge" that is ...

Good: 4th place finish at Run4RKids
Bad: Injury begining of March at Post Oak Challenge in Tulsa OK that lasted until Oct (same time I stopped running long for the year). I guess you just shouldn't run through an injury.

Re: On the topic of Selling/Buying Race Bibs ...
My understanding is Marine Corps allows transfers and you could find bibs for less than cost on craigslist just before they closed the transfer process. I don't really care if someone runs with their own bib or not. I just care that someone has paid for that "body" to be in the race. Bandi...
