Re: framboisine freezes at the Goofy Challenge

Great report, Framboisine...congratulations! Wish I had known you were there...would have introduced myself as another long-time maniac. Despite the weather, it was fun, wasn't it?

Cheers, Christine

Great report, Andy! Sorry I didn't get to meet you. Your report gives me hope that if I try again, I could do better. But you're right, it was a really fun experience and I'd do it again in a heartbeat. I think you should plan for next year...

Fabulous performance and way to go!

Re: Goofy Saturday - Part 1

I think I had an "Andy sighting" on Thursday evening...was that you, Andy, coming out of the Josten's building on Thursday evening just before the Expo closed? You were wearing an orange sweater and walking with a woman (was that you, Moof?). Recognized ChrisL the next day and intro'd myse...

Re: Looking For Input On Marathons

I've run Vancouver vs Victoria and Calgary vs Red Deer...I ran both the old Calgary route and the new one.

I'd pick Vancouver over Victoria.

I'd pick the old Calgary route over Red Deer, but definitely Red Deer over the new Calgary route...very disappointed in the change in Calgary.

Re: Goofy Challenge: Not really an ultra but...

Thanks for the ideas, everyone (thanks Andy - didn't see the Goofy thread  ). Gives me enough info to build my own schedule. Framboisine - hope to meet you in Florida :-) Great news, size5 - knew you'd end up buying in west park - you seemed to have your mind set on that area (you'll love it, ...

Goofy Challenge: Not really an ultra but...

I'm officially starting my "training" for the Goofy Challenge on January 10/10, but I'm not sure of what training program to use...I considered a 50-miler program but I don't know. There are a few maniacs who have done the Goofy challenge...what program did you train with? Maybe a 50-miler...

Hey Bob, Think I've been away from RM even longer than you...didn't know you were in Victoria. I'm heading out there tomorrow, for my last residency at school. If I need a running partner, I'll send you a PM. The gravel (non-paved) part of the Galloping Goose trail runs right beside my university, R...

Sometimes, it really is just about the running

My life for the past 2 years has been nothing short of chaotic (working full-time at a job that had me travelling all the time, full-time student in master degree program, 2 young children, running a language school on weekends, etc. etc.). My performance in the races I've done has been a continuous...

As it turns out, I won't be able to make it to F'ton this year...I'm so disappointed...

Andy, I think you'll really like the course...the trails are beautiful in F'ton and one of my absolute favourite places to run.

Have a good race, to all those running it.

So sorry to hear that Mouse...when it rains, it pours...wish I had a good news story to share with you today.

4 x 1-mile repeats last night, so no running for me today. Slept in, so no cross training either. Ah well.
