Ang you rock! I needed that hug more than you did, but you didn't know it at the time. ;)
So glad you got in before the Atlantic Chip guys rolled away too!

Rum Runners Relay: Leg 5

For those who do not know, the Rum Runners Relay is a ten stage relay race starting in Halifax, NS, traveling along the South West Shore to Lunenburg, NS, where teams of ten runners (usually) each take turns running a “leg” (or stage). The legs are selected in advance by the team. All of these stage...

Way to go Andy!
Sounds like you're having a great season.

I wish I were in some kind of shape, or thought I could back into shape. There may actually be a race at Disney World while we're in Florida in Feb.

Re: Bluenose 10k for Team Diabetes

Great job Trish! Well done! ...and Kudos to P and B for their runs! Thanks Dennis. The girls wondered if we'd see you either of the two race days. B has been telling everyone how she ran 4.2km in 30 mins! And P, well "I would have run faster [and very likely it's true - but I thought 38 mins f...

Bluenose 10k for Team Diabetes

I don't get in here often anymore, but I promised a race report to a few of my supporters, so here it is! :) Just over 6 weeks earlier, I had finished the very last of my school obligations, and decided that since I had a little time on my hands and needed the motivation to get off my butt for some ...

Re: Running again! (and I need your help)

Ran yesterday with my 9-year-old, that forced me to slow down, and helped loosen my legs up again. We did about 2.5K in 20 something minutes.
Today ran with Caro, 3k, 21:50? (ran 19, walked the rest).

Sure hope this is the beginning of a good thing. :)

Re: Running again! (and I need your help)

Not sure if it's the FM, or just because I'm so out of shape. I stopped running in December, and have been walking instead. I started seeing an Osteopath, and feel like he finally fixed a broken me that I'd nearly given up on. he gave me the 20 minute limit for running. So, I ran, but realized after...

Running again! (and I need your help)

So, I ran last week just to test things out, and felt great. Time to get back at 'er! And, knowing myself, I know I need a little motivation so... Since I am nearly done school (just have a few finishing touches to do on my final Framework for Practice paper), and am starting a new Part-Time (yippee...

Re: Motivate me!

This week I logged 20k of walking.

Twice I chose to hitch a ride into work with B.b and get out and walk the remainder of the trip to my office rather than bus it. :)
Today, i will create my own training plan of some sort. Enough talking about it!

Re: Motivate me!

I actually walked for a total of about 90 minutes today, I felt I needed to make up some lost time. 45 minutes during P's dance class and another 45 during B's.

I would love to join you for skating Ang! What time is the public skate again? Let me check my sched and get back to you.

Motivate me!

Okay, I know I really have to motivate myself, but I am having a tough go of it. January went well with sticking to walking, but I still didn't follow the planned number of walks, etc. Now I've let an entire week go by with only two short walks to and from an appointment. I just can't seem to get ba...

Re: Have switched to walking... (med. update)

Still working on the routine and trying to establish something workable... The good news is, my osteo/physio seems to be getting to the root of some of my longer term issues (neck/shoulders/back - woohoo!!!!) and seems to have determined what is wrong with my ankle and why it's still not "right...

Re: Have switched to walking...

That's just what I'm trying now. :)
I'm trying to establish a new routine of an early morning half hour workout, then again at lunch.
We'll see how the new routine works for me.
Thanks for you note and healing vibes to you too Karen.

Re: Have switched to walking...

Thanks Jojo. I have unfortunately allowed myself to indulge far too much in crawl-onto-the-couch-with-a-glass-of-red-wine-therapy but have found that running once/week (2-3 times on a REALLY good week) is just not working for this aching (and by aching I mean extremely stiff and painful) body of min...
