And for race day: high of 26 with high feel of 32... hm. It's gonna be a humid one, folks.

Re: Run with Jill

John the Bingham Penguin coined the term penguin running. Instead of 10 and 1 I run 3 1/2 and 1 so many walk intervals. I am now starting to find that easy so going up but only by 10 second intervals. When I followed the RR program of 10 and 1 I just could not go past 30 - 40 minutes of running wit...

Re: Run with Jill

Thanks for sharing this with us, C. This is the first time I've heard of this plan, and I'm impressed with Jill's marathon running history. And I think it's great that she actually gave you a starter plan with some adaptations, free of charge. I really hope this works for you. Looking forward to hea...

Re: Manitoba Marathon

Okay... as I'm somewhat incapacitated and in varying degrees of pain these days, I've decided that I'm going to hang at the start/finish area on race day. I'm taking my camera and will snap various shots of Maniacs at the start and crossing the finish. Maybe I can get a VIP pass to the infield? :thi...

Re: goals not reached/disappointing races

Alex, while I'm not a running coach and I have very limited experience with coaching (just a year of volunteer swim coaching), there is a tiny section in Daniels' Running Formula on ingredients for success. Just thought I would share this as it talks about different kinds of runners and the coach ro...

I have my own pull-buoys (bring yours - the ones they have there are older)...they have tons of boards so you don't have to bring one if you don't want to. New swimmers usually just show up...I don't know if Leah will be there - I see her occasionally when I'm there...but if you plan on joining you can just drop your completed form in the white masters box on deck - there's a place for you to put payments etc and Leah/Tim will pick them up. I see that...

I know I'm someone who works better "under the radar". Making my time goals for Ottawa public (I'd tell anyone who asked) was a bit of an expirement for me. Well, it didn't work (lol). From this point forward, my running goal is to get back to the more relaxed me. I plan to race a lot, lo...

Re: Andy's "Goal Questions"

1. What do you really want? To race the perfect triathlon; this means produce a result on the day that I am totally happy with and to know I lived up to my training and expectations 100%. If that means qualifying for Kona, so much the better. To be honest, the thought of you qualifying for Kona bri...
