Just back from my first stab at Nordic Walking. 7.1 miles in 2:17 ....... I never realized how much extra bit of work using those poles are  . I concentrated on keeping a steady, easy pace. And tried not to think about how much faster I covered that same ground last spring :( But the t...

Although it does sound like it may be an achilles issue I wouldn't jump to the conclusion it's only due to tight calves. Both could be symptoms of another issue. I've spent the last 9 months battling first achilles & now knee issues. Countless sessions of tortorous deep tissue massage on my calv...

Hmm never thought of skating - I'll keep that in mind for a little later down the road. :D :D :D Right now I can't pivot on the knee at all - it's like it's always clicking out of place or g...

Can you swim? If you can, use a pull buoy and that eliminates the legs. I can swim - just don't have a...

I love to travel too - running has literally taken me all over the world. Part of it is the feeling of accomplishment in achiving a goal - but a huge part of it is the people. It's the people that drew me to a little 10k race in Kingston and a 50k in Edmonton. Heck I'm going to fly half way across c...
