Re: 3 years is enough. My Open letter to Goodlife/Mississaug

I ran the Toronto Marathon yesterday and found the drivers patient. I heard no horns and the only yelling I heard was a jackass bonked marathoner yelling at a cyclist for being on the Lakeshore path.

Re: Toronto Marathon Elevation

I think the grid is wrong: the elevation at the start is around 180-185m of elevation and ends at about 75m of elevation (according to gmaps), so the numbers on the left are right, but the increments for each grid are uneven. Thanks. I concur, after posting the best info I could find suggested 182m...

Toronto Marathon Elevation

See the grid at the bottom - is the scale really skewed so that the Y-axis increments can be 5 or 25 metres or is the top of the course actually 200 and no 180 metres above sea level? http://www.torontomarathon.com/wp-content/uploads/2013/03/Goodlife_TO_Marathon_R.jpg" onclick="window.open(this.href...

Re: Marden Half Marathon $15

Update on me since a few of you saw me suck out and withdraw at 4K. I was babying my left foot that I was making worse with the quick pace. Worked out well - no damage and I was able to run for three hours today on soft muddy trails that are more appropriate for it. With some Physio and soft surface...

...10 days out from Boston so wondering what I was thinking :) If you are running around Marathon Pace rather than all out to prep for Boston, I will likely be doing the same. I figure around 1:45:00 for me. I had dreams of a repeat of three PBs from ATB, Marden Half and Toronto Marathon from last ...

I'm a onetime duathlete who subsequently learned to swim. I laughed out loud.

I chuckled too.

I tried to get passable at swimming and really stink at it. So I have done a few duathlons.

Re: Around the Bay 2014

Anyone else agree that the changes they made in the first half made it tougher overall? Into the wind 3K to 10K and then also 11K to 17K I found I had to draft off big dudes in big clothes to avoid the wind when it picked up. It seemed to work well though they could me shadow running beside them on...

I haven't done this race in a few years. Any recommendations for where to park and how early to get down there? Looks like the weather will be reasonably nice, but can be an issue with it apparently warming up quite a bit during the day. Have to figure how to dress. Thinking a short sleeve shirt un...

9 miles is approx. 14.5K - forecasted wind of 14.5 kph.

But why go to the trouble of converting when web sites are perfectly capable of giving forecasts in metric?

I converted because you had no idea.

Re: Garmin support (Raytech?)

Got the Timex watch - as good and suitable for my needs as I had hoped. I've had a chance to review both the Timex Marathon and the Garmin 10. The Timex had issues with functonality in the cold. Not good for Canada. The Garmin 10 is an outstanding watch. But the wrist band is too cheap and one can ...
