Re: Desert R.A.T.s

I am registered for YAU100 next year, so hopefully will be able to provide some guidance in the future.

G2G, distance wise is doable, the SELF-SUPPORTED aspect is a little unnerving... R.A.T.s sounds like it is a great time, and to end in Moab would be awesome.

Re: Water on the Screen of my Garmin

I had it happen to my 205. It did eventually dry up and kept on working, and I never stopped using it even with water under the glass. It think it is a busted seal some place. The beep got a little "washed out" after a few more "floods". Ended up using it for dry day runs after a...

So proud of you. I remember our first 2hr run, though to that final ankle twisting hammer out to the tower and back. Each one you got stronger and that much more confident. I am sure that ITBS was a combination of a number of things that should be easy to get behind you now that you have broken into...

Re: i2P trail ultra @ Camp Fortune?

I'll likely be in for the 38km. Have to see where I am at on my rebuild after KM100, but I think the 38km would be best. Not planning on training too hard though the summer, will be running for the fun of it. Isn't it supposed to be fun all the time? Striders fun I feel is in levels...fun with pain...

12.1km in 1:00. Better again this morning. Taped the ankle when I started and then ripped it off after a few minutes and felt way better. tagged up with a young guy from Portland for a few km's so pace picked up a little. Good Times. Wish I had met with him Monday as I found out about a nice local &...

21.5km in 1:48 this morning. I think I have explored most, if not all, the pathways in Rochester MN. Ankle is that much better this morning, most of the swelling is out of it, still taping and tender to the touch but I may have dodged a bullet with the weekend's roll/crunch.

Re: Wednesday - May Day !

Although I won't be wearing that many layers (!) I do intend to overdress somewhat for all of my running between now and the Ottawa Marathon. It always seems to be the first hot weekend of the year, and I wilt. Anything that helps delay that feeling should pay something. True it is overkill for a M...

Re: Wednesday - May Day !

Re the Steam Room -- do you actually do anything physical in there or is it simply to acclimatize to the hot temps -- how hot to you have it and how long do you stay?? Thinking I should maybe consider this as well..... Just sit. Temp? Whatever it is set at at the OAC. Time? 12mins on Monday, 15mins...

Rabbits!

1:15 this morning that included 40min at easy'ish tempo (4:31/km). Legs were tired from yesterday's double, but it was more a mental effort. Nice recovery 30min Elliptical at lunch followed by Steam Room. Gotta start that heat training.

Re: Gatineau

Strider, how are the trails in Frontenac? Are they really technical? Groomed? Is there lots of elevation change? Looks like a nice place for a mini-vacation to do some running and fishing :D They are not technical like Camp Fortune technical, but far from groomed. Nice challenging single track for ...
