Re: Saucy Saturday . . .
I had a lovely 10k in Seabrook trails. While out there, I decided to go easy in my half marathon tomorrow. The half marathon is for fun. I don't want to hurt anything. Hope everyone has a fun Saturday.

She did it! 7 ultras of 70 miles or more in 2017 for her 70th birthday.
Here is her race report: https://bookladywalker.wordpress.com/20 ... er-3-2017/

Re: Too many races ?
That blog post was a few years old.
What I see is private companies taking over races. In it for the profit, they may not have such a great experience but charge more money. Some races do still give good swag for the money. Other races give bad swag for the money.

Re: Do you run in the rain?
If it is cold and wet, I put on a rain suit and plan to get home before I get chilled from water seeping through or my head/hands get too cold.
If its warm, then I just get wet, if I'm in the mood. If not in the mood, I use the tm.

I surprised myself and finished in 12h26min. And, no damage was done to my body. I got to choke up at the finish.

Alright, I entered a race in Kansas because I was tired of being hot in Houston. It is -1 outside and I wonder how I'll survive 50 miles in a refrigerator. None the less, I picked an out and back race so I'd HAVE to finish it. Coming north to the finish I will have to dig a bit deep I'm afraid. I'll...

Environmental Friday
It is Friday and as usual I am working from home; which means I got an 80 min run on Seabrook trails. Good and sweaty. In April I applied to a position inside my company. Finally the interviews are today. 6 people applied and all 6 are being interviewed... today. Mine is not til 3:30, last. Wish me ...

I don't think it is about the pursuit of pain. I think it is time and money availability; plus I didn't work with my body all day.

Re: 75 YO Lady Crossfit Star
Here is another lady. 71 years old now, I have seen her at several races (even arriving on a Harley trike to Wyoming). Check out page 5 of attached news letter. She really got started with marathoning at age 61.
