Re: My Letter to John Salt
I think MultiSport had a bad season in general. I raced in Binbrook, Welland, Gravenhurst and Bracebridge and all of them had issues, some major, some small. Gravenhurst was perhaps the worst. Besides not having anything to sight for 1K on the swim, that goes into the sun, other than a green tetrahe...

Avoid the ww pasta the night before the race. It will likely lead to unplanned emergency potty stops during the race.

Re: Ajax or Oakville Sept 25?
Signed up for Ajax, although I absolutely hate running on the path - too many clueless people stepping in front of a heard of runners and the twists and turns spin my head around.
No plans for a PB, just a good, hard run and some fun.

Irongirl - thanks for the race report! You're the second person to mention wind. Although you didn't have the greatest weather day, do you know if it's typically windy? As well, how did you find the bike track in the rain - slippery at all? How about drafting? Was it easy to avoid for the most part?...

Anyone done a race here? Any thoughts? Anyone doing it this year? I'm doing the Olympic distance.

Double Bellybuster is doing Ajax this year. Me and the dogs will be cheering. It's right near our place, so come on over for breakfast/lunch afterwards .

Shipping bikes
What's the safest, cheapest and easiest way to get bikes to a race in the USA? We're flying from Toronto or Buffalo. Is renting a bike box from MEC the way to go for the container? I am sure we'll travel more with the bikes, but no timeline, so not sure purchasing one is the way to go at this point,...

Re: Race anxiety and the swim
You are definitely not alone! Last year was my first tri season. I did sprints and I was fine. I didn't think I would be as the wetsuit was dreadfully uncomfortable and I hate open water. This year, I head into the water to do my first race and wham, panic/asthma attack within the first 5 strokes. :...

Indoor versus outdoor
I've heard somewhere 3 hours on the trainer is worth 4 hours on the road. Is there some sort of base calculation for this so 2 hours indoor would equal X outside.
Thanks
Thanks

Good for you! The DoubleBellyBuster and I did the race as well. Tough course when there are tons of people walking in front of you pushing baby carriages and being oblivious to the race going on.

Re: Coach or no coach?
I struggled with this question earlier this season. I got a coach, however, just for the swim. I did it this way for a few reasons. I'm only training for Olympic distances this year and my weakest sport, by a million miles, is swimming. I had found a program that looked manageable so I used it for t...

Slight high-jack. Is this something that can be used on wetsuits or is there some other product I should use to clean it?

Re: Road 2 Hope anyone?
I've signed up. Strangely looking forward to this one. My only complaint/concern is I was on the sidelines, right before the finish line, two years ago when Double BellyBuster did this and there was no crowd control so people were running onto the course to high-five their friends/family and take th...

When do you know it's time to retire them?
I didn't know they didn't last forever until a fellow rider mentioned his last no more than 3 months because of all the riding his does.
Cheers!
