Ah, now I understand. I think that I have see those somewhere but I have never tried them. Right now I am looking for different ways to cross train, as running is out until at least the beginning of October (MRI date for my knee)

nope, had a (only one) Timmy's donut as someone at work had left large quanties of them in the coffee room at work. Evil bugger!

I just can't resist the odd temptation, why else would I be active but to eat the "good" stuff!

Rest day for my tired legs (I never knew that swimming could make me hurt this much) and I have my sister flying in from out of town today, yippee! It should involve wine drinking and a good visit.

:D

I have used gels on my long runs and races as I cannot eat and run or I end having stomach issues  My favorites so far are Hammer Gel Raspberry (does anyone know where to buy this now?) and Carboom Strawberry Kiwi. Does anyone have any suggestions for new flavours to try or other suggestions o...

What do you really want to do?

You will have the mileage done and by the sounds of it, your running has gone really well (I could only dream of keeping up with Jacob), you have a choice. Run a fast half or experience a full and see where that takes you.

Let us know what you decide!

Great report! It kind of reminds me of how I felt during my first full, minus the nachos and beer. If you want a nice, flat course (can't guarentee the weather), come to Winnipeg on Father's Day for your next marathon. BTW, we have some really good Mexican restaurants for nachos and beer! :) eme

I finally managed to get to the pool today(it has been waaay too long). Swam for about 45 mins. I was trying to to concentrate on keeping my legs straight and moving my legs from the hips, not the knees and now my legs feel like jello!

Have a good Monday night everyone!

If I am having a tough LSD run (no injuries, just not in to it), I think about what I will be having for brunch after the run. The group that I run with (when I am not injured) almost always go out for brunch after our run and we never decide where to go before our run. The discussion about where to...

Every time I read about this kind of thing, it make me sick. I am a member of the Canadian Forces and I see friends going to far flung, often violent places to put an end to hatred and the atrocities associated with it. Obviously these kids have no clue what kind of sacrifices were made to stamp out...

As I am one of those who is off the roads due to injury (double crosstraining points!) for me tonight it will be a swim - it's been a while so it will hurt and then a nice bike ride with my son.
