nice pics. you looked totally in control and, dare i say, having fun (since only running manics would consider running 13.1 miles fun) :D

Re: What is it with running hats?

none of the "running" hats fit my egg head. always feel like they are just sitting on top of my head and will fall off. the tennis hats fit me better - can pull them down more so they are more snug.

first race in how long and you are giving yourself a hard time? chill. you take what the day gives you. keep up the running and you'll have a great base for ENJ. you might even want to race it :D

yup, no chance this happened in this day and age. passport or nexus card at the airport are the only types of id they accept. if you cross by land or boat some others are accepted but only those 2 fpr air travel.

still a nice solid race. and any excuse to hit the mill st brewery afterwards is a good one. i have never run this race in ideal conditions. it's either hot, humid, windy or all 3 at the same time. the one year it wasn't hot and windy it rained

Re: Overhydration

As a point of interest: Do you believe that recreational runners tend to over hydrate? What is the longest distance you would consider racing without taking any fluids? Just curious. 5 and 10k's - never. maybe take a cup of water to dump on my head if it's stinking hot. i've raced half marathons wi...

Sounds like a real bugger of a course. But you did really well. Thoroughly enjoyed your race report. Do the next 70.3 on a "normal" course and i'm sure you'll crush it. BTW - you seem so surprised by the fact that it was cold, windy, and wet. you were in the UK weren't you????? and you exp...
