Not signed up yet, but think I will soon. I think I'll do the half and hopefully the full in Toronto at the beginning of the month.

I am having the same feeling of survival here!
Run commute again today - 4th double day this week, plus Tuesday where I just did a 7 km interval run on my way into work.

Re: Ottawa Marathon - too hot???
It can certainly be hot. I wouldn't say it's usually so hot that it's miserable but can be warm enough that it slows you down a bit. If you're shooting aggressively for a time goal, that's a factor but if your goal is to have a great first marathon experience (and won't be terribly upset if you get ...

10.5 km this morning with my running buddy - an annual new year's eve tradition. Footing was terrible so opted not to do something longer.
With that run, I passed 3000 km for the year - a first for me!

Re: Unseasonably Warm Wednesday
I had a very slippery run home yesterday in freezing rain - the pedestrian bridge was sheer ice! This morning I avoided it, and the rest of my route was just wet. Run commute to and from today, and hopefully will make it to bootcamp tonight if everything aligns.

Re: December Beast Challenge
I'm in for 30 minutes of activity! I do run almost every day anyway, so I don't really need a challenge for that, but it will be good to have an extra motivation to make sure I get something in even over the holidays and while travelling this month.

Case in point, I caught my foot on a protruding root tonight. Luckily, ...

Re: Ottawa Race Weekend
Good analysis! I think the thing I struggle with is that as a late May marathon, if you get a hot day and have to slow down, you don't get a second shot that season. The marathon is such a "all your eggs in one basket" kind of event. For 2015, I agonised between Toronto/Missy three weeks e...
