Re: Wednesday's other child
3K in the early morning rain, no walk breaks. Felt like a runner. Slow, but steady.

Re: Must be Monday
I had a lovely 30 minute run/walk in sunny (today) Charlottetown. Turned an ankle and two near-spills on melting ice, no damage done. Couldn't waste this beautiful morning.

Re: Sun-Day
Another Couch-to-5K run today. I don't even know which one, I just followed the prompts, then jogged most of the way in from where I finished. Cold-ish and grey in Charlottetown, PEI this morning. But I really enjoyed my run/walk.

Re: White Rabbit, White Rabbit, White Rabbit Tuesday
I finally made it to 5km. :D Last week I got to all clear from my physiotherapist, so I am good to run. I've been slowly getting back into it over the last month or so, starting with 15 minutes and going from there. This afternoon I pushed through to 5k on the treadmill. I haven't run that far sinc...

Week 3 Day 2 of C25K. Off to a bad start with a tech glitch with the app, made up for it with a good run in the last five minutes.
It was a busy weekend and I didn't run at all. It was hard to get out there this morning ... momentum really helps.

Safe Travels, Jennifer. I forgot that I did W2 D3 of Couch to 5K on Monday night, and couldn't figure out why my workout was harder this morning. But it was good, nonetheless. Warmup, then: Run 90s, Walk 90s Run 180, Walk 180 Run 90, Walk 90 Run 180, Walk 180 Cooldown I'll take it. Off to work til 2...

Re: Monday
Today was supposed to be a rest or walk day. But It was a long workday and I really wanted to run between work and more work. So I did Week 2 Day 3 of C25K. Tomorrow I'll walk 30 minutes on the way to work. But tonight I needed to run.

Couch to 5K Week 2 Day 2: 90s running, 120s walking repeat for 20 min.
Harder today. Could be the cold (-14 wind chill) or just a late night last night. Rest or walk tomorrow.

Oh-Dark-FRIDAY
The whole family up at 6:30 to walk/run. It's easier to get out of bed when the rest of the house is, too. In the continuing theme of starting over, today was C25K Week 2, Day 1. 90 seconds running, 2 minutes walking, for 20 minutes. 5 min. warmup and cooldown. It was harder than the Week 1 workouts...

I can't start the Wednesday Thread!
Can I?
Last day of Couch-to-5K week one. It helps to have a plan ... all I have to do is show up and follow it. For now.
Warmup 5 min
Run 60, Walk 90 (20 min)
Cooldown 5 min
Next: on to Week 2!

Happy Monday, Happy St. Paddy's Day.
Week One, Day Two of Couch-to-5K. It's like I've gone back to 2004, except I'm even heavier than I was when I started running. -6 and feels like -13. Positively balmy.

so it is still going well then? I once asked for a sleep clinic referral, and the doctor said he submitted it, but then nothing ever happened. :/ need to try again. Yes, still going well from a sleep perspective. Blood pressure is lower, too. I still wake up in the night, and I can feel that I'm we...

3.5 km walk around the hood with both my gals. Feeling good after having my gall bladder out yesterday. Doc says walking is fine, no running for 3-4 weeks. I'll take it.

So I've finally had the gall bladder surgery that led to the sleep apnea discovery, and I'm advised that I can start running in 3-4 weeks. Walking is totally fine though, so did a couple Ks in High Park this morning, and 3.5 K tonight. Not bad for a guy who was too sore and sedated yesterday to put ...

Re: Your Cooling Tricks?
One thing someone told me on a very hot day at the Ottawa Marathon was to cool off the big muscles in your thighs -- which you can do by dumping a bottle of water on them, or rubbing them with a cold wet sponge. A dry sponge is easy enough to tuck in your belt, and you'll probably be carrying some w...
