Re: Saturday, in the park...

Calling for rain, thunderstorms and heat here as well, which is a bummer since our annual street party is today. Got 6k in first thing while the weather was still cooperative (although heating up...).

Re: Crappy weather = no Sunday thread?

Nicely done, mas_runner ! ETA: And robinandamelia , too! 10km for me at the peak of the pouring rain, since I only had one window to squeeze it in between Father's Day breakfast for DH and a kiddie birthday party this afternoon. It was alright - within about 2 minutes I was so wet I kind of forgot I...

Absolutely glorious. 5k this morning, then spent most of the day outside with DS and his friend.

Re: Midsummer Night's Run moves to Toronto Islands

On the STWM site, the last I checked they're saying the eastern half of the course is subject to change due to construction - they don't have it finalized yet.

Re: Don't make me start the THURSDAY thread!

4.5k at 5:30 this morning - managed to get it in before the worst of the rain set in. Also walked Pottery Road hill twice later in the day (once at lunch and once going home... always opportunities for hill training when you work at the bottom of one!).

Actually, all the signs in the neighbourhood say the construction goes until December 2014.

Tuesdays are a tricky day for me at the moment, so I'm considering it a major win that I squeezed in 4km before dinner.

Slept-in Sunday

Missed my usual window of opportunity for an early-morning run since we stayed up late playing Cards Against Humanity last night. Run will now have to be in the afternoon by the time we get DS's swim lessons out of the way. Hoping I can turn this bug into a feature and see if my sister can run with ...

Re: Midsummer Night's Run moves to Toronto Islands

Anybody have anything good to say about this race? :o Actually, I was well aware of its mixed reviews when I signed up - it just falls right when I'd be running my first 30k in marathon training anyhow, so it seemed like a fun way to do a training run. With it moving to the island, it'll be more fun...

Midsummer Night's Run moves to Toronto Islands

Interesting... apparently due to the construction around the Leslie St/Cherry St areas, the Midsummer Night's Run is moving to the island for "at least the 2013 race year". I've never done this event before, but I have to say, apart from crowding on the ferries, this seems like a potential...

Re: May 2013 Training Goals

Schedule shows 156km, but I'll settle for less - just want to stay healthy as I work towards the TO Women's Half on the 26th. Also trying to be more diligent on strength training on my off days. Failed big on the strength training - I really, really need to get my act together on that - but otherwi...

Toronto Women's Half - what a difference a year makes!

I ran the Toronto Women's Half yesterday; this was my third half-marathon, and I ran this event last year as my first-ever half. There were several differences leading into the race between last year and this year - some good (better trained, despite having missed a lot of April to sickness this yea...

Race day Sunday

I'm up and getting ready to head out for the Toronto Women's Half. Sun is rising, day will be cool: it's PR conditions, but we'll see if I'm in PR condition or not. Looking forward to a fun day either way! Good luck to all those racing in Ottawa, and elsewhere.

Re: Sunday to run and say Happy Mother's Day

Celebrated Mothers' Day by getting to sleep in before my run - 20k while DH took DS to swimming. A little rain, a little sun, a LOT of wind, but made it back to my own porch about 30 seconds before the hail started.
