Re: Black toenail

Where's the picture!? I got one about I year ago, my big toe. Didn't hurt, just ugly. Over time it pushed out, and I cut it back when I was able. I can finally say, 1 year later, it is gone! Enjoy it, you earned it

Re: Running and weight

I'm carrying 15-20 lbs of "bad" weight around and I've seen my happy pace drop almost 30s/min. I believe part of that is due to fitness however it will be hard to gauge as when fitness improves, the weight naturally follows. Also, when I was running in the hilly areas a couple of weeks bac...

Re: Fueling 1h30-1h40 1/2M's

I would have to agree, for me, the fueling for a half is very different than for a full. I'll regularly take gels in the full hoping that it will pay off in the end when I have little reserves. As for the half, I'll have my regular "running" breakfast in the morning. If the run will go ove...

Re: Sunday's Run in the Rain

Did a morning run in Toronto South of Steele and Leslie on a path in the conservation area. It was really nice. Just over 11k in just over an hour. Unhappy business in a couple of hours (funural) then the long drive home.
Blink! There goes my weekend.

NB 1080s

Did a short 4k with them this morning. The toes box felt fine (D width) and the heel support was good. Really, I have nothing much to say that is different from the 1064. No new pressure points, they felt comfortable. My orthodics were inside, and they tend to raise my heal, the right foot felt a li...

Red for...Zoom Zoom...

I also got a red Brooks tech top, red is my running colour. I couldn't get my shoe size in red for a couple of years, so this is a good sign.

Re: NB 1080s

I got the new shoes! They look so different! Tried them on, they feel good. Haven't run with them yet, will do tomorrow. I believe I'm a heel striker due to the wear evidence on my shoes, so I'll let you know what I think. Did I mention they look really cool? Red... http://img.runningwarehouse.com/b...

Morning Motivator

Welcome to RM!

I used to have it figured out. I found once I did it for a couple of week, I was doing it without question.

The biggest motivator is setting the alarm early and my wife kicking my butt out of bed. She doesn't like getting woken up for nothing.

To be fair, we had the 1st real spring in a long time. Goodbye spring, hello summer.

I ran this morning...very humid...got 25 minutes of sweat in.
