Routes in Lugano Switzerland?
Are any of you fine folks familiar with Lugano Switzerland? I'm going to be there for work in a couple of weeks, and I'm hoping to get the inside scoop on some trails. There are mountains all around the city, and from the googling I've done there are indeed trails, but I'm trying to figure out the b...

Re: Remembrance Day Tuesday
Had my first run back after taking a week and a half off- been dealing with some hip issues.
Did a nice & easy 20 mins with the dog this morning, and the hip seemed okay.

Re: Headlamp/Lighting
I've got this one from Cree- http://www.amazon.ca/Coast-19721-HL27-Focusing-Headlamp/dp/B00BHVNKNA" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false; It's pretty decent, and despite the $90 price in the link I posted, you can find them for about $50 on ebay. It's not quite at bright as the Cree Headlamp...

Nice & easy paced 10K with the dog for me this morning on trails. Weather was perfect- about 2° and mostly sunny. Still holding on to running in shorts........

Re: Fall Back Saturday
4.88 miles according to runkeeper. I did a sort-of loop. Some parts of the trail were really slick and at one point my feet slipped out from under me and I was bouncing down a steep section on my ass, over rocks and roots. I'm in a fair amount of pain right now, with a giant bruise on my butt. :lol...

One of the nice things about this being my recovery season is that when I wake up at 5am to run and it 3° and raining I can say "nope" and go back to sleep for another hour.

Frosty Thursday
Quite a difference from yesterday! It was quite balmy here yesterday morning, but today there was a pretty thick frost over everything.
Headed down to Presqu'ile with Percy (my dog) for an easy paced hour under brilliant stars.

UTHC- Adding 125km for 2015
The Ultra Trail Harricana in Charlevoix QC is adding a 125km distance for next year (this year the longest was 80km). I did the 65km and it was great- really well organized, beatiful course, great aid stations. I think I'll do the 125. http://harricana.info/125km/" onclick="window.open(this.href);re...

Re: Warmer Weather Wednesday
Nice & easy 10km with my dog this morning- up to the Conservation Area for a loop on trails. One the way back though, I had to do one of the grosser things I've ever had to do. As we were running along the street, there was some very squished and wet roadkill. Percy had just enough slack in her ...

Re: Trail shoes on the road?
I generally run to my local trails- 1 of them is 3km by road, the other is 6km by road, so I have a couple of prs of trail shoes that I will wear for those runs, but at least 1 other pair that I wear only on trails. Altra Lone Peak- only on trails- I don't want to wear down the knobbies too much by ...

Thanksgiving Monday!
Good morning from Vancouver!
My brother and I flew out yesterday to spend some time with my grandparents this week. Got out this morning for a little over an hour on the trails by their house- bush whacking, falling down, getting lost- good times!

Re: Replacement for Garmin 610
I have the TomTom Runner Cardio as well- I like it. I find it quite intuitive to use, and I like that it's a lot lighter and slimmer than my old 205. I had a bit of trouble with the first one I had- I had the battery crap out 6 hours into a 50K race (tech support said that it was likely that the tre...

10.1K in 1:01:36. I took the subway up to my mum's then ran home, which is mostly down hill. :) While I was running I got a text from my BFF who ran PEC and qualified for Boston! :D She's run Boston a couple of times as a Manulife/Hancock employee, but this is the first time she's actually run a qu...

Re: Mississauga vs Toronto Marathon (May)
I did the Mississauga 1/2 a couple of years ago and I was very pleasantly surprised. I had no issues with parking (at the giant mall), the atmosphere at the start line was amazing- Michael Burgess sang O Canada. The course was a lot nicer than I thought it would be- when I think of Mississauga strip...

Trails Tuesday
An easy 10K on road and trails with my dog this morning. Still feeling some niggles from racing 2 weeks ago. Trying to balance out the niggles, prep for pace bunnying the PEC marathon this weekend, and running the energy out of my dog.

Re: Run to work - and back Friday
A run to work for me would be almost exactly a marathon (give or take a couple hundred metres) so no run commuting for me.
10km for me this morning- up to the local conservation for a run on the trails him Percy (my dog).

Hey Maniacs- I'm still trying to get a couple more pace bunnies for the PEC Marathon- 4:15, 4:30, and 4:45. It's a super nice race and I guarantee you'll love it- come be a bunny in the County!

Frosty Friday
It was a chilly one this morning- right around freezing when I headed out this morning.
Legs are still a bit heavy, so I'm taking it easy. Headed up to the local conservation area with the dog, and did an hour on roads and trails.
