Not much planned for me this month. I have been taking it easy since Philly last month. I started going to the dome for indoor intervals again last week. I will start ramping up the mileage again next month to train for Ottawa.

I registered for the marathon today.

Another day of rest and recovery for me. I will get back out for a run probably Friday or Saturday.

No she did not run. She wanted to be there for the start. In the end security was not as bad as it was made out to be so we could have showed up later although I suppose if everyone did that it likely would have been an issue.

P.S. What's a RR from Phili without a reference to a cheesesteak hoagie---it's like talking about Toronto without a reference to Rod Ford. Can't believe I forgot to mention that. The first thing we did after I showered and changed was grab a cab to head to Pat's. I thought there would be a big line...

Yesterday was marathon number 9 for me and my second time in Philadelphia in the past 3 years. After running a 3:12 here in Ottawa in May the goal was to go for my Boston qualifying time which is 3:10. Philadelphia marathon for me this morning. I had a good run going until I started to feel cramping in my right calf between 30-32 km. From then on I had to slow down and take it easy to get to the finish line. I didn't get the result I wanted but still had a good weekend in Philly.

Like others have said I think it is possible if you want to make the commitment. I have a full time job and 2 kids (1 and 4). I have run two marathons per year the last three years. For me it helps that I work about 8-10 km from home, great distance for weekday runs home . I also get a lot f my week...
