Well, obviously if I want to be able to run in any race I want to - I will have to learn to run without it. Thanks for the civil responses - I never realized this would be so heated, I know some people like music and some don't but I did not realize I was cracking open such a huge can of worms. I ju...

And just to add - I don't want to start a HUGE debate (I searched but gave up around page 4).

Just wondering which races are the most stringent about the reg and if any Maniacs have "run" into it.

Sorry, bad pun.

I just don't know if I could run with nothing

The entire US?? I find that rather hard to believe as would the use of these not fall under a local bylaw...not contradicting you, just find it odd? I can understand it with some types of races and certainly can understand it on a bike. I too would find it very hard to do any running without the mu...

Headphones/Ipods banned?

So I was reading an article about running in the States and it said that the use of personal music (Ipods, MP3 etc) have been banned for safety reasons. Have any of you guys dealt with this? I can't imagine running something like a marathon without a little background music (softly, so I can still h...

QCM - Regina - Tell Me About It...?

I was planning to try my hand at the Manitoba Half, but it looks like I will be in Aldershot at that time.
The QCM ia looking a little more doable - anyone have any advice/tips/reviews?
This would be my first try at anything like this...

Billeting for Manitoba Marathon...

I need to confirm with hubby but we may have two rooms available for out of town MB marathoners for pretty cheap - we don't live close to the race, but maybe we can arrange a lift?

Would anyone be interested in that?

Just wanted to agree with everyone - run for the fun of it! There is a reason you got into this sport and it wasn't all about HR and time - get that feeling back.

Don't give up.

I was a big fan of the Nimbus 8 - then they changed to the 9, which I don't like as much.

Now I like the Saucony Triumph and there is also a Mizuno that is pretty good.

I have rigid, neutral feet.

I managed a GL - it was not a good experience for me so I will try and put that aside. The facilities are usually very clean and well-equipped. The group fitness classes are great - They are the sole provider of Les Mills classes in Winnipeg, which are excellent - I would highly recommend checking t...

My sports bra is $120.00. I would kill to be able to buy one that's under $80.00 (and not take an eye out), let alone $45.00. Consider yourselves lucky. I concur - I can at least use one that hovers around 65 - 80.00, but I would *love* to get away with a 12.00 Wal-Mart uni-boob bra. That said, I l...

Canine running partner suggestions...

We are moving, and after I get back from CAP (yikes), we want to get a puppy. I am the dog person in the family (although my five year old loves them) and am considering a couple of different breeds. Here are my specs - - I want a dog that is able to run and train with me BUT - I work during the day...

What about Kimberley Hill? Does anyone run that regularly?

I have that problem of looking at my feet, I am hoping with reminding myself hills will get easier.

I have to do a training course in the maritimes this summer, being from Manitoba I am concerned about hills.

How does one train for hilly terrain when I have limited hills here?
