Re: Perfect pacing?

I'll volunteer for pacing duties. I will make no guarantee that my legs will look nice, nor will I shave my head. I will carry your garmin though. :)

I know people act as if they can't keep their feet on the pedals if they are not clipped in but that seems like a problem with an overzealous pull on the upstroke, likely at the expense of pushing down on the opposite pedal. I'd have to do some searching but I...

Re: "new Interval Training"

This idea is entirely borrowed from training sessions that well known athletes did as early as the '60's. It's standard Lydiard style sharpening training. Athletes like Lasse Viren, Steve Jones and Rob De Castella always did sessions with what they called a recovery "float' where they barely sl...

Of course he would get sanctions reduced and his ban reduced or lifted. Aren't reduced sentences pretty normal when criminals make deals?
I'm surprised people on here wouldn't want him re-instated. Wouldn't you like to beat him in a race?

UK Athletics also just lost their "frozen chip" contract with McCain's. "Potato contracts" can be very lucrative.

Pretty sure it was just a matter of time before someone recognized her. You don't spend 20 years lighting up TV, message boards and swimsuit calendars without leaving some sort of recognizable image.

She was taking medication that "fixed" the depression. Someone with a predisposition to being Bi-Polar seems a bit more likely to veer towards the manic behavior.

It also has mental illness, prescription medication and a possible link to her behaviour. Usually when things like this happen with famous people a little bit more attention is paid to ordinary people in the same situation.

You could roll numbers like dice or the lottery and convince people that if they run hard for whatever number comes up and rest for 30 seconds the gains will be like no other.

If it was true courage the Andreu's would have blown the whistle in '96. Instead Frankie got on board the train after Betsy told him that Lance got cancer from the drugs and he (Frankie) had better not go on them or quit if he already was. After riding the gravy train as long as they could or wanted...

There is a significant connection between Bauer and Armstrong. Saying this has nothing to do with the Armstrong investigation is dubious. Bauer only has a team because of his connections to Armstrong. http://www.theglobeandmail.com/sports/steve-bauer-to-start-up-canadian-cycling-team/article1207881/...

You would have to test the muscular strength increases before and after. I believe they would be negligible.
The upper body requirements for cycling are about on par with sitting on a bar stool while leaning both elbows on the bar.

Slightly increased flexibility through holding that position and likely also blood flow changes. An increase in capillarization seems feasible. There are a number of other examples that could be given where a pewrson can do an activity that initially causes a good deal of ischemic pain that rapidly...
