What a great site. I only made it through the first story, and I'm so misty eyed (and reaching for a kleenex)

Sorry I didn't get back to you b4 the event - I was #53. I think I may have seen you near the end - were you wearing a blue shirt and orange hat?

Thanks for all the suggestions. Both Dr. J and Jacob have good points. I think that I am in a running rut right now with all my runs being at the same slow pace. I will work on doing my LSD runs slow (as by definition) and trying to increase the pace of my mid-week runs :D

And you can build up to more repeats over time. In my 10K group we started at 3 repeats, and worked up to 6 by adding one each week.

Thanks for the suggestions guys! I'll be sure to work in more runs at faster paces in preparation for my next 10K (October-ish). And maybe just try to run more like Jacob

Okay, I have to ask: do you actually run through the zoo? On the paths by the animals? Do they have a website?

LSD to Race Pace

How does one go from LSD pace to race pace? I've gotten very used to running at a slow pace, but I'd like to pick it up a bit for my 10K race. My longest run to date has been 11k. Thanks :D

Wow! 16K! The longest I've done is 11K, so 16 seems so far away. Good job on toughing out the last 2k on your own. Sometimes the last few are the worst.

I just find that there is too much friction when running between the short material and 'the girl parts'. When biking I find that the short material gets smushed up into the girl parts - sort of like a wedgie

Its a try-a-tri (15K bike). I don't find I need any more padding for that distance. I have bike shorts, and I find it really uncomfortable not wearing anything underneath them as well.

Women - What to wear?

I'm doing my first try next month, and I can't decide what to wear. Especially on the bottom. I think I've decided to do all events in the same top/bottoms, wearing a tight workout top (w built in bra) and spandex shorts. I figure that that will dry out relatively quickly after the swim and be good ...

Rest day for me too. I'm on holidays this week, and am doing the Xerox 10K in Ottawa tomorrow so today will be spent saving up energy by watching day-time soaps on the couch :D

I'll be running it too. This will be my 2nd 10K race, and I'm just hoping to do a bit better than my first one. I ran the course with my 10K RR group on Sat, and it seems tough (for me anyway) :?

Good luck everybody!
