No rain at lunch today, heck we even got sun towards the end of the 10k.
I was however sluggish...as in 20sec per km slower for the same effort---for no good reason

maybe tomorrow will be better

Re: I laughed, I cried, I ran Boston

I love reading Boston reports. Thanks for sharing, and congratulations on a great run. From what I've seen its is not all that common for people to BQ at Boston, sure there are the 3 hr runners but for so many of us who just get in under the wire the Boston route can can anywhere from 5 to 25 minute...

Great report Ron, hope you're on the mend.
I know you'll be back to Boston !

I cc'd you on an email. Your youtube videos of the finish line have friends of mine front and center just as if you were doing video of them!

Re: Boston Marathon who is running 2011?

A week to go and getting excited! Called the Concierge at the Westin Harbor Front and was asking about getting around. She told me that Boston is the “walking city”. I really don’t want to log a pile of Ks the day before the race but apparently I am 3 miles from everything. Hoping to get in and out...

Taking it easy, being under trained, just there for the event, yep, check mark me for all 3 of those as well. Saw you and Wesley right before the gun, had I known you were taking it easy I would have spent the morning with you! I was assuming you'd blow my doors off, like you did all last summer. I ...

If training miles are your shortfall this year, then I'm in the same boat, quite undertrained.
Maybe you and I can padde together!

Well done on the PB, and as for cramps, likely had something to do with that little hill :)

Anyd, huge improvement over last year, looks like all of those back to back weekend runs are giving you the base you need to run LT.
Good luck in Vancouver.

I know you're disappointed but that's an awesome result none the less. Robbie finished 92 overall in a race of about 6,000. I have to smile when I see there is a bunny for the 2:00 group. I think of bunnies as pacers for the rest of us in the middle and back of the pack. I don't recall seeing any bu...

And if you have the opportunity, you can weigh yourself before and after and it will tell you pounds of water lost. Assume 1 pound is 16 fluid oz. Will give you an idea of sweat rate.
if you're thirsty after, drink water,if not, then drink something else
Just a rule of thumb.

4-5 inch of new snow for the Chilly Half. I 'm assuming the route will be salted so it will only be wet and we'll get decent footing.

It was last yr (I didn't run) that the route changed. Prior to that as was mentioned it was a loop and the return loop was Lakeshore. Parts of Lakeshore are 2 lane, some 3 lane. There were issues for a couple of years where cars on road, passing running clipped elbows etc. Runners were concerned for...
