Re: David's Tea

Derek stopped at DT in Bayshore on the way home. He was really pumped about the Cocomint Cream and it was the Tea of the Day. His verdict? "It sucked". This from someone who guzzles Santa's Secret, Mother's Little Helper, Read My Lips - okay, mint teas. He couldn't nail down what specifica...

Made this soup http://www.moosewoodcooks.com/2012/09/indian-roasted-eggplant-soup/ back in September. Froze the entire batch, and finally thawed some tonight. It was delicious with a side of fresh, sprouted bread!

Re: What's for dinner?

Good to know! I think mine was fairly decent based on the store I got it at, and the types of food they typically sell. I thought that for a first try, flavoured might be better. I'll give it another try and will get plain next time, and will rely on the other foods I'm eating it with to flavour it...

Re: Fuel belt bottles issue

I've had this info stored in my email, in case I needed it. Maybe one of the tips will help with your bottles? Hydration Bottles & Bladders Maintenance - For tough cleaning jobs, add 1/4 cup of baking soda to 3/4 cup of water and shake for 30 seconds. Add 1/4 cup lemon juice or white vinegar, sh...

Re: What's for dinner?

I had quinoa, mixed vegetables and pre-flavoured coconut curry tempeh. I've never had tempeh before and I don't think I would get it again. It has an odd flavour to it. I will try tempeh again sometime though. Tempeh is divine, if you can find the good stuff. Anything located on most common grocery...

10.10K on the watch, before it proceeded to crash again - probably 16Kish by the time I got home. After spending countless hours on calls with Garmin and RayTech this week, it looks like the 310 is off for replacement. Too bad they can't swap a Garmin for a Suunto :( Erin and Smiles - please take ca...

Oops, posted to FB - meant to post here! Can't stop laughing, only cause I can picture your hubby saying "What do you need – a kick in the A$$??". You've had such an incredible year of 50's, and I'm sure your Dad would have been beyond proud. Congrats again Sylvie, you are truly an inspira...

Re: injinji

For those who've worn the SmartWool toe sock option for a while - how are they holding up quality wise compared to Injinji? I've been having wear issues with SW socks for the last two winters/springs, and am leery of their toe socks (and all SW socks in general). Lots of reviews like this one http:/...

Re: injinji

I get mine from SockGeek.com when they run a sale - some months the coupon is for 20% off, other times it's 10% or free shipping. I like the fact SockGeek offers a "multiple" discount, which bodes well since I like to buy 3+ pairs of the same sock at one time! Watch for the eBay sellers - ...

Oh Jane, you already had a lot on your plate. Please take good care of yourself this weekend :YMHUG: A 10K cut to 7K this morning - the stench from septic pumpings, field/pasture tilling, and recycling collection did me in. :YMSICK: Will go back out this evening, probably with Duncan at my side.

Thank you HM and Carm for reporting on the Banana Nut Bread - makes me sad, cause I was hoping for greatness!!

I was going to do an online order, but one of Derek's colleages mentioned there is a DT at Bayshore. I had no idea one had opened - can you tell how often I go into the city
