Re: HCcD's 2012 Vancouver M&G Marathon Weekend

Congratulations on marathon 27 even if it wasn't the result you were after. When I saw your half marathon time, I thought you were going to do it but marathons can be so tough. However, you played it really smart by backing off and giving yourself another shot in Ottawa. As others have already said,...

Re: 4 Dark Suits, 3 Strangers, 2 Paramedics and 1 Fire Truck

Just catching up and came across your race report. What a shock but thank goodness you are ok now. It's a pity you didn't get the time you wanted but that is part of the challenge of this running game. Hpoefully you will get back into the swing of things again really soon and have a fantastic half m...

Really sorry to hear things didn't go well but it sounds like you made a smart decision given the circumstances. Hopefully you will recover quickly and be ready to go again sooner rather than later.

Re: Multiple Marathon Sunday

Congratulations to everyone who set a PB, BQ'd or just raced today. Here's hoping your recoveries go well. For me, I can't run at the moment but I can still do stairs (not even sure why!). So I did 30 minutes hard this afternoon which I was really pleased with. Hopefully this will keep my fitness go...

Re: Multiple Marathon Sunday

3:53:46 in Mississauga today...that's a PB and a BQ....glad I raced today but it got rough. I was on pace for a 3:50 until about 32-33K then it got rough (isn't that when they're supposed to get rough lol).... took some wee short walk breaks and tried to hold on for the BQ (3:55). So super pleased ...

Re: Late flight Saturday

An easy 5.9kms today. Nevertheless my leg still played up so I have decided to take a two week break from running to give my leg a chance to heal. In the meantime, the very best of luck this weekend to all of you who are racing, wherever that may be and whatever your goals are. I have to confess, I ...

Managed a fairly easy 5.4kms this morning before the dreaded hamstring struck again! Actually it was only a twinge but I stopped and walked home just in case.

Re: Carm's Banque Scotia Montreal 21.1K 2012 Race Report

Congratulations on a great race and your PB. It sounds like you didn't have perfect conditions and also had to handle an unexpected refuelling situation but from what I can see, you did just fine.

Now just 4 weeks before Ottawa.

Re: Boston - A "Perfect" Storm

You know reading all these 2012 Boston experiences just reminds me of what a horrible idea doing marathons are. Anyway, I'm glad you could find some positives in what otherwise must of been a horrible day. FYI; Don't try to race Comrades. Only crazies race for 90km :P . I have to confess I have bee...

Did a three hour park clean up in the morning and then a steady 10.2kms in the late afternoon. Nowhere near as impressive as some others but I'll take it.

A probably bit too fast 8.5kms done at a 5:21/km pace. Note to myself, take it slower tomorrow! :? Still everything felt fine and it was great to be able to get out and do it.

Re: EarlyBird Friday

The second easy run of the week to test my leg. This time I did 5.3kms at 5:43/km and the best news is that my hamstring came through with flying colours. :D I am really happy about that though I will continue to take things easy. Not so happy about the cold wind despite the sun and blue skies. :(
