People who run the race and take advantage of the amenities (water stations and such) without registering. They will usually duck out at the end to not get caught.

I have the hypothermic half in Edmonton (also my bday). But I am going to waddle through one lap and hopefully by the time I am done runners will be finishing and we can go for the breakfast. Somehow I think that my runner friends are going to be waiting for me...

There is a bus that runs to the downtown from Tunnel Mountain road, then it is a very short walk to the race site. And it is cheap. $2 I think. We are staying the wh...

I am in the midst of losing a toenail. This is from Ironman, back in August, and it still isn't gone. It is barely hanging on and I have to keep a bandaid over it to prevent it from getting snagged. I would rather have had an "explosion" or something. That way it would be over with by now!

Good to hear that your training is going well.

How long were you running (and how fast/slow) until you were able to hold a moderate pace at those heart rates? I wonder if I have given up too quickly before I notice an effect...

I remember a few years ago I joined Goodlife. They set me up with a "trainer" as part of my program as a new member. The young girl looked at me and explained my program, but when I asked if she wanted to know about my physical limitations and injuries she looked at me with a confused look....then ...

Do you have access to an exercise ball? It can help you with your squats if you are worried about form. Squat, but have the ball against your back against a wall. Roll along the ball as you squat (I hope this makes sense :? ). This way you can go down slower and ensure that you have good form. Don't...

The first weekend is a mandatory fitness theory course. The supplementary weekends are the specialty modules: group fitness, resistance train...

Maybe go swimming tonight. I will see how I feel at the end of the day. I tried a run yesterday and I think it was the toughest thing that I have ever done. I made it through a half hour, just barely.
