Re: Surfing for Halloween

That was a very gritty run. You make it sound so normal. I'm astonished that your feet could be in such good shape with all the cool damp weather and uncertain footing. That's outstanding. I really enjoyed the report. I hope this does act as a great spring board for the 100 mile run in the spring. I...

Re: probably a dumb question re: bread

Beautiful stuff clocker. Really beautiful! I make wonderful french baguettes and I found them the easiest when it came to learning how to make bread. My hand-made bread always turns out better than the bread machine bread. I agree with Holly that for me it's an intuitive process and I go by feel. I...

Good luck to the organizers, volunteers and runners. Looks like it's going to be a banner day weather wise. I hope you all have a great run.

Re: probably a dumb question re: bread

I agree that volume measure is not the best and a scale is the way to go if you can swing it. The game is really one of hydration. 60% if I remember correctly. Ian did come out last year... hey Ian, you have one more chance to make it this year!!! :D Thanks for asking, but I'll pass. No racing for me this year. I miss the energy the volunteers pump into this series though. You guys really made it a wonderful introduction to trail running for me last year,...

Re: How long before I'm not gasping in the pool?

When I first tried to swim laps I was astonished at how hard it was. I took to asking the guards, once in a while, for some tips about how to improve my efficiency. By the end of that winter I was able to swim like I run now... which isn't saying a whole lot I suppose. It was great work and I...

I love the fun you're having with your active lifestyle. What a wonderful surprise for you to PB that familiar course without any intention of doing so. Congrats on finding an impressive balance.

This has been such an effective strategy to getting positive results for me. Great points! I had to learn this from scratch and am still working on putting this into habit. It's helped facilitate far better communication through conflicts of all kinds. Thanks for the reminder. Although I'm a committ...
