I started in April 2004 but didn't run much over the winter. I struggled through my first Half Marathon in October in 2:03:04.3 (chip time), then I sat on the couch eating bon bons all winter. Got back in the groove in April again. I plan to run through this winter, though.

Well, if you guys are as easy going as you claim to be, then you won't mind the opinion of someone new. This board is great, don't get me wrong. All I am doing is throwing another opinion into the mix. I don't post very often because I find this board much more intimidating that the RR board. Most ...

Now being a respectful kinda guy, I would expect that being ourselves would entail some sense of self worth that would prevent any blatant bashing of other communities, entities, corporations, NGO , policial regimes and what not. But I'm not about to stop someone from ranting if they are upset (wit...

I saw some pics of the devastation posted on another forum (no, not that other forum!) -- some of the bridges looked pretty bad. Not sure when they were taken, I expect Friday evening (post-storm) as there is a LOT of water and debris showing. Hopefully the link works: I'm reposting it without permi...

I bought my own latte machine and it paid for itself after a few weeks of "drinking in". I made myself a frothy beverage when I got home tonight and enjoyed it while preparing dinner. No more afternoon coffee for me when the beast is sitting on the counter at home! I just came back from dinner and ...

I've been involved in other on-line forums, both moderated, and private ones without a moderator. This kind of stuff happens all the time. It isn't unique to the RR forum. Heck, that wasn't bad at all. You should see what happens when a whole group of hormonal, post-partum, sleep-deprived, new moth...

And all you want is you morning cup of joe.... grrrr I'm off Timmy's because I'm mostly taking my coffee black these days, and Tim's coffee just doesn't work for me unless ...

I think this board has been amazingly positive, as boards go. It's a genuine community at this stage; small enough that everybody knows at least somebody and I think it's an extremely positive and supportive environment. I can't imagine an outsider looking at this board overall and perceiving it as ...

Gotta be at least a week for me. I'm a sucker for a blueberry danish. Did I mention one of the reasons I run is because I like my food a little too much?

My husband's mustard pet peeve is "why do we need 5 different kinds of mustard in our fridge?" Oh, we have that one in our house, too. We basically have it down to a honey mustard for me and a Dijon for MrsBG ... we might have French's for LittleBG, but she's really a ketchup girl. Occasionally we ...

Ok, I HATE to admit this but in a previous life many many moons ago (8 years when I was in my teens) I worked at McDonalds. In a previous life, I worked at Wendy's, and we did it all manually. Our very gung-ho assistant manager taught us that mustard was a meat seasoning which belonged on th...

It was a whole-wheat bagel -- and it was very mustardy.

Other than the mustard situation, it was very enjoyable -- with black forest ham and zippy Swiss cheese, lettuce and tomato.

...on putting about 2 tablespoons of mustard on my sandwich? If I wanted a mustard sandwich , I would order one. Do they somehow think they have to make up for the mayonnaise and salt I asked them not to put on there at all? It seems to be a systemic thing -- they all do it, everywhere ya go. And th...

6.2K run for me -- my pace is a bit faster than it was, must be all the inactivity... It's good to be up and out in the morning again. Now if I could get the rest of my day to go as smoothly.

I was #22 to join, but I'm somewhere down on page 2 in posts -- which suggests that I just don't have enough time on my hands. Sigh.

Man, I hate that I was offline/on dialup for so long -- I went to Winners in Pickering when we were en vacances, and got me a pair of long Adidas pants for about 35 bucks. They had some good deals on Hind sleeveless tech shirts, too -- but I'm shopping for fall/winter before I do anything else.
