Likewise Tim, nice to meet you.

Tim is very modest not to mention he had one of the fine performances of the day. Great job.

Re: EndurRun

Thanks Hezzy! I agree that Stage 5 is a tough way to start. I actually had that in mind in my Sport debut last year and I checked the times of comparable runners from the prior year results so that I could pace myself evenly on laps. But with the course change from 700m of elevation gain in 2012 to ...

Re: 2014 TdF - Telecast

It was quite the exciting stage! Does Contador really have a fractured leg? I missed the part where they gave the reason for him abandoning (other than he had a knee injury that required surgery). Also, they seemed to dispel the earlier belief that he'd been hit by a bike that fell off a team car a...

Re: 2014 TdF - Telecast

Lots going on in today's stage. If you are PVRing, be sure to watch the 99K to go through 94K to go, there is something there not to fast-forward through. Thanks for the tip! And I'm going to stay off social media until after I've had a chance to watch the stage so that it's not spoiled. Be sure al...

By the way, we live in Waterloo (less than 2 km from Laurier if you're staying there), and we have a big backyard and a charcoal barbecue. So please feel free to drop by, hang around, whatever. I can cook some burgers, steaks, or smoke some ribs if there's interest. I'll be looking for an excuse to...

Awesome...I'm there Friday and Saturday night! Looks like Stage 7 will be 10% Marathon Maniac participants so consider wearing the ugly yellow Sunday and we'll get a cheesy picture for their newsletter...unless that sounds creepy. Agreed. As an avid cyclocrosser, you'll be happy to know this stage made me a Lars Boom fan. Love his name most of all but also how he pulled away from the yellow jersey late with his face covered in mud.

Re: 2014 TdF - Telecast

What a fiercely entertaining stage... I usually skip through stuff on PVR but I couldn't today, it was amazing end to end. I am enjoying watching the Tour. As I watch primarily team sports, which are 1 to 3 games a week, it is great to watch something that progresses more quickly than I can keep up...

Defending champ Chris Froome just abandoned his tour. No camera captured the crash but looks to be a fractured arm from a wet road wipeout.

So who all is in?

I see on Strava that Tim is getting good miles in. I see the same for Robin on Twitter. It is going well for me this summer as well.

Who else is in? Singles? Running Mania Relay Team?

I'm still hung-over from the Tour de Suisse and Dauphine! :) Lots of good racing already this year, and on TV no less ... wonderful. I've been watching some of the coverage. Strangely I find it very intriguing at times. I think Phil Liggitt (if that is the name of the play-by-play bloque) could mak...

Re: Have you lost too much weight trying to get faster?

The scientific rigour in running/cycling/lifestyle magazines is generally piss poor, but I don't think one rather poorly written article negates the idea that carrying around extra weight (fat especially) slows a person down. Agreed. Like Victoria the Blogger, I just hate the deliberate overstateme...
