As for the gold medal I am not sure if I have that in this body to go sub 4 min km for 30k would be very hard. Remember this is a guy who never ran until 10 years ago and who never made the XC running team at school or never ran track. My first Marathon I thought I was going to die and finished 30 m...

There is not a runner out there that has not gone out too fast. I also have done it at ATB and it was humbling because the second half is so much harder than the first.

Remember the lesson and go on.

Thanks everyone and for those who do not know the particulars of the race Sub 2 hrs is gold medal (64 people this year) silver to those up to 2:15 (261 people) and bronze to everyone else who has to run a lot longer of a race. Maybe it should be the other way, bronze up to 3 hrs silver and gold for ...

Tritorun's ATB report

Well here it goes! The short and sweet of it is that I set a 14 min PB from last years 2:17:00 and finished 2:03:23 for a placing of 93rd ( I was hoping for top 100) :D The long of it is that I was going in with a bit of an unknown because I have not done that many long runs this year. My longest ha...

I am surprisingly not all that sore today. I was dead for a week after chilly half so we will see how today goes.

I will go to the pool later and spend a bit of time in the hot tub.

Massage later after work.

Have a great spring day!

I grew up with a pool in our backyard but I never took swimming lessons. I am very comfortable in the water it is just that I did not really know how to swim properly. It is amazing how much you can learn from a book.

Cheryl Glad to hear that your new training plan is going well. Remember to listen to your body and don't be a slave to your running plan. The only thing that I see that troubles me is that you are pushing your body in so many different ways. The plan does not seem to focus on one thing at a time but...

my longest one ever!

Yesterday I did my longest swim ever and I was surprised that I felt really good. 120 lengths or 3000m and it took me 1:01:42. I know that this is not a blazing pace for some of you out there but it is pretty good for me. I stayed relaxed and concentrated on good form the whole time and I was please...

We found BJH's trail but weren't on it for too long. It's very pretty and I can't wait to do more of it next weekend when I do 30K. 8) All in all a fun run but I'm pooped! We're going out to Oshawa tonight where my parents are doing an early birthday dinner for Dave (his birthday is April 2,...

The last couple of kms were tough, but otherwise, it felt awesome. It took me 3:20 so I am feeling very good about ATB in 2 weeks wi...
