Re: Cool or Not Cool?

I do wonder if all of those who accused him of "stealing" a medal that was actually presented to him will show the same class and apologize for libel and slander they committed in their fits of self righteous indignation. Given my experience with runners, I highly doubt it for I have come...

Re: Running Mules..

3) Qualifying for Boston is still a big deal, still something to strive for, still something to be proud of. Just because you don't want to do it again doesn't mean it doesn't have meaning for others. (And most people I know that have done it don't "brag" about it-- they are very humble y...

Re: Running Mules..

The marathoninvestigation internet sleuth is no friend of the running community. This is one of multiple entries where he rats out people for running with someone else's bib (at races that prohibit race transfers). It's gross. If he cared about runners (their health and well-being, or their best in...

Re: Cool or Not Cool?

Has public shaming gotten out of hand or people boasting and posting pics of their every move on social media? If the Bargnani fan stood up in in the stands shouting out what an awesome player he is, he will get a reaction. If a thief stole something so he could give it to his wife to have their be...

Re: Cool or Not Cool?

Such a sweet and thoughtful guy stealing a medal for his wife. Cheap b@stard. Too bad the 20,000 or so who finished in front of him didn't take an extra one too.

Yup agreed.

It's also pathetic how the comment is still getting mentioned.

There were some foxes on the seawall today. 5.8k tempo run. Time to slowly work in a second speed work session per week.

Re: Time change Saturday

Had to jump out of the way to avoid getting hit by a car today. Note to drivers: When you're making a left hand turn, move your upper body around the windshield pillar so you can see if there is anyone crossing the street in the opposite direction. The pillar is between the drivers door and the left...

Re: 5 days per week vs. 4 days per week but similar mileage . . .

- How much variation is there in the runs? On 5 (or 4) runs per week, 1-2 "quality runs" (i.e., longer run, speedwork, or hills) would lead to better physical fitness than 0 and also can help avoid mental ruts. Furthermore, these explicit harder runs can help keep the easy runs really eas...

I enjoy reading the blog which is the source of the above quoted article: http://www.marathoninvestigation.com/ I've wondered if this is the same Larry you spoke of in your journal about bumping into at numerous races. http://www.marathoninvestigation.com/2016/05/world-record-marathoners-part-2-lar...

Re: Last Chance, Last Day, December 31

I ended the year with 15k. I had a good year of running which included an April marathon and 3 more in Sept, Oct, Nov. Career-wise I've spent a lot of time upgrading my skill set and I enjoy what I do. Wishing all a prosperous 2017!

I've had my Garmin 230 for about 7 months now and love it. It doesn't have the optical HR sensor but it has everything I want in a running watch.

I ran in below zero temps this morning,,,, do I get a stupid score?? It was -4   :shifty: 8K done. SS = 4x8 = 32 The "slightly stupid" category starts at SS=100. I did 8k (in shorts) as well. That puts Cheryl and me in the "off the charts stupid" category. That sounds...

Re: Golfing Monday

It was nice enough to go golfing today, but alas I had to work. I did get in a good workout doing 10k with 6 x 800s at lunch. Now that racing season is over and I cutback on mileage, I figure doing intervals once a week is a good way to maintain some speed.

Re: OK, so it's Saturday

OK I was being totally facetious and playing off of Ian's comment because he excluded BC. So I made up my own stupid score for BC. Truth is, I have my treadmill rigged up so I can watch work-related training videos on my laptop so I can multitask. I'm not afraid to run outside below 10 degrees. I ru...
