If you were a professional football player and HAD to play, then taping would make sense. However, taping as an ongoing remedy doesn't seem right to me. I would want to know what is CAUSING the problem. Had you been running pain free for many years and something happened? Did you change your running...

Some of the previous Olympic outfits weren't great but these are the worst yet!!

I hope all the outfits don't look like the ones we saw here.

Signature line

I'd like to add a comment to my signature line but have been unsuccessful at doing so. I inserted a quotation and tried to submit it but it didn't seem to work. The radio button for "Always attach my signature:" is toggled yes. Do I just press "submit" or do I have to press "reset" and then "submit"...

Like most runners I try for a PB in each race I run. Why not? Naturally I don't get a PB each time out, I'm only human, but it's fun to try and for me that's what it's all about. I tend to put a lot of effort into my training runs too. I track my times and am pleased when I achieve a PB on a particu...

Plain old Tetley for me! I've tried a lot of others but strong Tetley with 1/2 tsp sugar and milk does it. I gave up drinking coffee, which I loved way too much, 5 years ago. I had to stop drinking coffee once for a couple of days for some reason and came down with such a caffeine withdrawal migrain...

A couple of weeks later after my driveway "incident," I was approaching a busy intersection with a traffic light. I tried to anticipate the light change, got it wrong and ... you guessed it. Still attached to my bike, I fell down like a circus clown in front of a full house. I was picking gravel out...

First ride on my brand new Cannondale road bike with clipless pedals - I arrive back at my house, wife watching from front porch, go up the driveway, slow down, stop, fail to unclip and start falling over. On the way down I am thinking "This is going to HURT!" and "I hope I don't damage the bike!" Y...

I can't remember where I saw it but I noted on a web page that some shoe company or retailer was listing the height of the heel and the forefoot so that you could figure out the "drop" from heel to forefoot. The average drop seemed to be about 12mm. I wish this statistic as well as the shoe weight w...

Back of the knee problems ie ACL, Baker's Cyst etc. sidelined me for many years. On my return to running after a 9 year absence I severly pulled my hamstring. By slowly moving my footstrike forward and taking shorter strides I have been able to "baby" or "manage" my problems and continue run. I am n...

There is also a 1962 English film by that name. The cast featured a large number of well-known and less well-known actors who went on to become quite famous. Here's a link (the clip is almost 10 minutes long). OOPS I tried to post the link but I was denied the right. It's nice to know I'm still too ...

A glass of half orange juice and half water works well for me. It gets some fruit sugar into the system but it's not too sweet.

Good luck.

She can make the standard in pretty much every country except for Canada.

Are Canadian Olympic Standards exceptionally high in all Olympic sports?

If so, why?

Canadian Olympic Marathon Standards

This may be a simplistic question but I'll ask it anyway. Will Canada have any men or women competing in the 2008 Olympic marathons? I know Jon Brown is one possible (?). Apparently, Canada had no entries in the marathons at the 2004 Olympic Games because no Canadians met the time standards. Who set...
